We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and empathetic Healthcare Assistant to support a male client living with a spinal cord injury, who requires tracheostomy and ventilation support, and all aspects of personal care, including hoisting.
This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver one-to-one care in a home setting and be part of a supportive team led by an experienced nurse.
Essential Experience:
· Tracheostomy and ventilation care
· Moving and handling with hoists
· Suctioning and cough assist
· Stoma and catheter care
· Confident driver who is comfortable traveling to different locations
Desirable Experience (not essential):
· Spinal injury support
· ITU or complex care settings
· Housekeeping and preparing basic foods

Provide clinical supervision to assistant and trainee psychologists as required
The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
Experience of working with people with a diagnosis of a mental disorder, personality disorder and/or enduring mental health problems
Experience of and/or interested in rehabilitation and recovery of patient in a forensic context
Skills in individual and group work and in programme planning
Use of complex methods of psychological assessment to inform the psychological formulation and intervention

You will assist with animal care programmes which would include feeding, watering, socialisation, training and exercise procedures and the provision of clean bedding and nesting materials, clean caging and associated equipment
You will assist with the maintenance and cleaning of animal rooms, corridors, storerooms and laboratory equipment ensuring that they are kept in a clean and hygienic condition all to a high standard
You will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and in particular those relating to Animal Welfare, GLP and Health & Safety
You will ensure equipment is maintained to the highest standards and liaise with management and maintenance to ensure any repairs are performed in good time
You will sanitise animal caging and associated equipment using the site Cage Wash machine, pressure washers and other equipment supplied for the purpose
You will undertake and achieve the qualifications associated with the apprenticeship framework, namely the IAT Level 2 qualification

Manage Outpatients and Virtual clinic reception desks for the department and deliver an excellent patient experience by meeting and greeting stakeholders in a friendly and professional manner.

Maintaining contact with patients waiting either in person or online.
Maintaining regular communication with the clinicians throughout the day, and making sure they are aware of any patient who has been waiting a long time.
To ensure that clinic schedules are adhered to, utilising consultants and patients time efficiently throughout clinics and escalating any capacity issues to service leads.
Deal with queries and potentially challenging or distressed patients at reception or online, especially if clinics are running late, clinics have been cancelled at short notice, or the patient has received upsetting news.
Training:Business Administration Level 3 Standard.
Training will be delivered using blended learning with webinars, face-to-face meetings with tutors and work-based learning in the Organisational Development & Learning department at the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead.
