THE CANDIDATE
You will have an HNC, BSc or MSc qualified or similar in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering or similar.
You must have a background as a Building Services Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical).
You may also be chartered e.g. MRICS, MCIBSE, CEng
You must have significant experience of project managing data centres from initial design stages through construction and handover.
You must have excellent client facing skills and have the ability to help to bring in new clients.
You will need to have good pre and post contract experience of project management from inception of a project through to completion and handover.
You should have good analytical skills.
You should have a stable work record.
You must have excellent English both written and spoken.
Salary is in the region of £80000 to £110000 or more according to experience plus benefits which includes professional fees, health insurance, pension, discretionary bonus and other benefits.

This will involve working with our Overhead Line and Underground Cables teams to deliver a range of projects and engineering solutions, from early stage optioneering, to feasibility studies, right through to detailed design and providing design support to our clients during the construction stage.
A typical day may see you involved in the following:
Using engineering design software to create models of proposed and existing line routes and structures
Carrying out structural analysis on existing electricity network assets to assess suitability for reuse or replacement
Designing foundations for new assets including electricity pylons
Evaluating various options to connect wind, solar or battery storage facilities to the electricity network
Producing engineering drawings using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
Create reports detailing engineering solutions for submission to our customers
Working with our project management team to develop plans and schedules to deliver our designs and projects to budget and time constraints

On-site work – installing panels at the customer location. This includes bolting panels together, copper bars being connected and wiring installed and connected, flash/meggar testing carried out for customer approval before completion
To attend the customer site to fit additional switches and metering at the customer's request
Carry out on-site modifications as required
