The apprenticeship would start with a rotation around the business to gain a full understanding of the different operations/ departments and then focus on the mechanical engineering processes. Duties will include:
Learning the construction of 3 phase power transformers, both theoretically and practically on the shop floor.
Training on 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor) to create 3D models of the transformer designs.
Creating 2D drawings & engineering bills of material for production.
Training:
Primarily based in the workplace.
Apprentices attend Loughborough College 1 day per week during term time to study embedded BTEC qualification.
Dedicated trainer/assessor to visit the apprentice in the workplace.
