Delivering a world-class customer experience that’s warm, personal and unforgettable
Supporting all aspects of store performance – from sales to service and everything in between
Becoming fully trained in Piercing & Jewellery Welding – full certification provided
Coaching and developing your team to help them shine
Managing stock, visual standards and store operations with care and consistency
Stepping up in the Store Manager’s absence to lead with confidence and clarity
What We’re Looking For
2–3 years' experience in retail – ideally in jewellery, fashion or lifestyle brands
Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams
Customer-first mindset and a natural flair for styling and personalisation
Sales-driven with a solid understanding of KPIs and store profitability
Flexible, hands-on and ready to embrace specialist training
Comfortable working evenings, weekends and during peak trading periods

An apprenticeship lasting 18-months within Metro’s operational departments dealing with global freight logistics (in the right circumstances there may be the opportunity to work in more than one area of the business).
The chance to learn about what it takes to be a logistics professional and move freight around the world.
To work in our Birmingham Office and:
Using internal systems to create documentation that will enable the freight to be moved to customer specifications, on time with all the necessary customs and legal documentation, including:
Creating and updating freight bookings
Raise customs documentation to ensure the freight can move from country to country
Collate all documents and distribute them to customers and carriers, as required
Preparing and processing of invoices
Deal with customer requests and queries by telephone and email quickly and efficiently by passing them on to the appropriate colleagues in the department
Contacting customers directly to advise them of planned shipment details
Communicate with departmental colleagues and other Metro staff, ensuring that the messages are clear precise and effective
Accurate & timely reporting to the department manager
Take ownership of your training and development so you can continuously improve and develop the skills required by junior freight forwarders
Training:On-the-job training delivered by the employer.
Apprentices without Level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement, the apprenticeship English and mathematics minimum requirement is Entry Level 3.
Allocation of an apprenticeship delivery coach who will carry out regular training.
Assessment and support visits to ensure you acquire new learning, knowledge skills and behaviours in order to progress and develop.
Identify, track and support 6-hours of off-the-job training activities.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Perform tool setting, machine maintenance, machine loading, de-burring of components, loading CNC program of components, inspection of components and updating of system to achieve current status of workload.
To understand and interpret Engineering drawings, including GD&T, and to use a range of standard and special measuring equipment, as well as working closely with QC to achieve high ‘First off’ pass rates and to liaise with QC to resolve issues and eliminate repeat failures.
To have an understanding of cutting tool and component materials and their effect on productivity. The importance of correct tool selection, an understanding of cutting tool conditions including rigidity, speeds, feeds, lubrication and their application and effect. Also, to understand tool failure and to recognise causes and take appropriate action to rectify them.
To understand and apply safe and appropriate workholding methods and techniques to satisfy component requirements, including manual and automatic chucks, vices, direct clamping (to machine tables) and special jigs and fixtures.
Verify the conformity of parts, assemblies and sub-assemblies in line with engineering drawings, the quality management system and any special customer requirements.
Identify and report non-conformance as per the Company procedure.
Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance and Health Safety Environment policies and procedures.
Training:
The apprentice will be working towards the Level 3 Machining Technician Apprenticeship Standard.
Qualifications include: EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering (Development Competence), EAL Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence) and EAL Level 3 Diploma in Machining (Development Knowledge).
This is a 4 year apprenticeship with college attendance required one day per week.
College attendance will be at our Colchester Institute - Braintree Campus.
