Quality Inspector Responsibilities:
- Inspect raw materials and finished products for defects, FOD, or transit damage.
- Use a range of inspection tools including CMM equipment, hardness testers, and conductivity inspection tools.
- Carry out dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments.
- Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and associated documentation.
- Conduct final inspections, both dimensional and visual.
- Report non-conformances using the internal IRN process.
- Contribute to process development and quality improvement activities.
- Apply training effectively to support quality assurance.
- Maintain a strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.
Quality Inspector Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quality Inspector in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with dimensional inspection techniques and tools.
- Knowledge of CMM, Eddy Current Testing (Level 1), and Hardness & Conductivity Testing (Level 2) is beneficial but not essential.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and inspection paperwork.

General purpose:
The Apprentice Sheet Metal Fabricator will spend time within the sheet metal fabrication cell and will learn about fine limit sheet metal processes and procedures. The apprentice will be involved with manufacturing aerospace components made from aluminium, stainless and mild steel.
The apprentice will operate within the mandatory customer and internal specifications and inspect products accordingly. The Apprentice Sheet Metal Fabricator will learn how to effectively and safely use fly presses, brake press, waterjet and welding.

The Apprentice CNC Machinist will spend time within the machine shop and will learn about CNC milling and CNC turning. The apprentice will be involved with manufacturing aerospace components made from aluminium, stainless and mild steel.
The apprentice will operate within the mandatory customer and internal specifications and inspect products accordingly. The Apprentice CNC Machinist will learn how to effectively and safely operate and setup 3-axis CNC machining centres, and lathes.
Key Deliverables:

Role & responsibilities:
As an apprentice Inspector, the candidate will be learning to inspect seamless steel cylinders and cylinder components in accordance with specifications and engineering drawings. This will be aided by the use of various inspection equipment such as micrometres, Verniers and gauges etc. whilst undergoing your training, which is a mixture of full-time at the AMRC training centre followed by day release and on-the-job training.
Once qualified, the candidate will be performing in-process inspection checks on products in a safe and controlled manner, meeting all quality specifications whilst satisfying productivity requirements and in compliance with engineering drawings and associated specifications. Ensure that equipment is maintained, relevant records are up-to-date and that all processes work effectively to ensure that the business can fulfil its aims.Training:You will study on a Level 3 Engineering & Manufacturing Support Technician pathway.
