The programme contains one virtual study day per week with the University and the remainder of the working week is spent in rotational placements around the Simulation & Modelling departments.
As a model developer you will often encounter new and exciting challenges.
You will work closely with other departments and companies to integrate subsystem models and design data. Customer Support Services has overall responsibility for the definition, development and delivery of support and service packages for all MBDA products, with the aim of continually being able to meet the most demanding of our customers' requirements.
Environmental Engineering & Facilities provide MBDA with the ability to simulate real world mechanical and climatic environments (through vibration, shock, temperature, etc.). Our Environmental Engineers provide expertise throughout the product lifecycle and generate evidence to demonstrate that our products are safe, suitable for service and meet our customer's expectations
Mechanical Engineering - You'll gain vast experience of a product lifecycle which will provide the foundations on which to build the expertise required to design, make, and test the next generation of missile system hardware
Training:For this 4 year programme you'll study towards a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering degree at The University of Hertfordshire one day a week, with the remainder of your working week putting in to practice everything you're learning in a real life environment via your placements. Through a combination of on-the-job technical training and time studying at university, Software Apprentices will develop the skills to effectively design, create, and test software.
Working closely with other teams and departments, you will work through a variety of stages in the software development process, covering anything from embedded systems to front end software.
This software will be developed on a range of platforms, including Linux and Windows, utilising C/C++, LabView and Java. Training:On this 4-year scheme you will study towards a BSc (Hons) Digital & Technology Solutions Software Engineer pathway at Cranfield MK:U, to align with the Level 6 Digital and Technology Solutions Professional Apprenticeship Standard. Study will take place face to face at university 1 day per week.
When not at university you will be working across new and existing software products building your overall product knowledge. You'll be involved in all aspects of the software development lifecycle within a supportive team.
In years 1-3, you'll have 6 x 6-month placements in each of the departments within Software and expose you to different technologies and development methodologies. In your final year, you will take on a year-long placement in the department of your choice. As an Electrical Engineering Apprentice, you have the chance to play a fundamental role in bringing together MBDA's missile systems: designing and integrating the electronics that drive our Weapon Control Units, Actuators, Telemetry & Communication Systems and more.
Your work week will consist of one day study leave to attend university, with the remaining four days completing rotational placements within the Electronic Engineering department as well as Mechanical Engineering and more general placements, such as ISP and datalinks.
You'll also have the opportunity to complete external placements outside MBDA, with our external contractors and suppliers.Training:On this 4-year programme, you will study towards an Electrical Engineering degree at Hertfordshire University on day release for a minimum of one day per week, which will be funded by MBDA. In this varied role you'll gain experience and become increasingly responsible for the development and support of HR System Technical Activities. You'll have opportunity to learn from an experienced team and as you gain confidence, you'll use your growing technical expertise to work on streamlining processes within the wider HR function.
You'll complete rotations every six months in areas in HR - predominantly within the HR Systems team. There is opportunity to complete placements within other areas in HR to help with your understanding of the function and extend your network – these could include areas such as:
