As our Batch Maker, you're there to produce paint and related products by setting up, operating, or tending machines to mix or blend materials, such as chemicals, liquids, color pigments, explosive ingredients, or rust-proofing materials. Here's what you can expect every day: Stages and charges necessary raw materials into process flow tanks. Follows batch work instructions in order to manufacture quality products. Prepares disperser and letdown tank for production, including any necessary equipment clean up. Monitors and controls high-speed disperser, mixer, pumps, flow meters and other instruments in order to make sure that a batch is produced according to work instructions. Adjust a batch, under QC guidance, until it is approved. Get batch tickets from floor supervisor and discuss with floor supervisor the best order. Determine raw materials needed. Housekeeping - Clean up work area to 5S standards, takes out trash, participate in cycle count and inventory program. May assist in other departments such as filling, and material handling or help make sample batches Ensure work area is safe, clean and free of recognizable hazards, communicating all spills or other hazards to the shift supervisor Responsible for Dust collector cleanouts when required. Training:The apprentice will work towards achieving the Level 3 Chef de Partie Apprenticeship Standard, a nationally recognised qualification that builds on Level 2 culinary skills.
Training will be delivered in partnership with Yeovil College, combining on-the-job learning in our hotel kitchen with off-the-job training one day per week.
During the apprenticeship, the apprentice will develop advanced cooking techniques, section management, leadership and menu development skills.

Follow the nursery safeguarding procedure to ensure all children are kept safe, well and secure
Contribute to a programme of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of children in conjunction with other team members
Keep records of children’s development and learning journeys and share these with parents, carers and other key adults in the child’s life
Support all staff and engage in maintaining a good staff team
Liaise with and support parents and other family members as required
Be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g. training, staff meetings, parents evening, etc.
Be flexible within working practices of the nursery. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the nursery, e.g. preparation of snacks, meals, cleaning equipment, laundry etc.
Work alongside the Manager and staff team to ensure that the nursery’s vision is fulfilled
Read, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role as deemed appropriate by the Manager
Record accidents in the accident book. Ensure parents sign
Be constantly aware of the individual needs of all children
Ensure someone known and agreed by the nursery and parent collects the child
Respect the confidentiality of all information received
Training:
The apprenticeship training is delivered through a combination of workplace learning and regular college attendance
This training will teach you the knowledge, skills and behaviours set out in the Early Years Educator Level 3 standard
On completion the apprentice will receive Early Years Educator Level 3 qualification
Functional Skills in maths and English may also be required depending on current level
Training Outcome:
On successful completion of the apprenticeship, it could lead to a permanent role

You will gain a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification at the end of the course
All training is completed remotely via teams, your tutor will be there to support you throughout and visit your setting
Online remote training sessions will take place once every week for the first 8 weeks and they’ll be scheduled in as and when
You will complete your Level 3 Paediatric First Aid
Training Outcome:
After completion, you will develop into a Level 3 practitioner, with the potential of a permanent position upon successful completion
There is also the potential to go into other childcare orientated roles e.g., social work, teaching, managerial roles etc.
