Early Years Apprenticeship

The moment your journey as an apprentice begins, you become an employed member of staff paid by the hour, and you have the chance to 'Earn as you Learn' whilst gaining a nationally recognised qualification.

You will work towards gaining a full qualification, attending college 1 day every 2 weeks alongside your work in the setting. The apprenticeship will last a minimum of 18 months, and you will be working towards a Level 3 diploma in Childcare.

Throughout your role you are not alone. Cathedral View offers you full training, support and guidance to help you progress in your career.

Working with children between the ages of 0-5 years, organising activities, being proactive with the help and care carried out within the early years teaching sector.

Assisting and meeting the personal/emotional needs of individual children; changing nappies, feeding, caring and establishing a relationship with children.

To contribute to a high-quality caring environment for children. This includes creating a warm, friendly and stimulating atmosphere in which the children can develop emotionally, socially and educationally through individual attention and group activities.

Help with maintaining a high level of cleanliness throughout the nursery, ensuring the setting is well presented each day and safe.

Retaining confidentiality at all times.

Attending team meetings and contributing relevant ideas.

Training:

You will achieve an Early Years qualification via Cambridge Regional College and Cathedral View Childcare. Cathedral View Childcare is committed to offering its team high-quality CPD opportunities, as well as further career progression.

As a minimum, employees undertake training in:

Safeguarding  Food Hygiene  Paediatric First Aid Prevent and British Values

Training Outcome:

Following qualification, practitioners will be offered the opportunity to select a preferred age group with whom they would like to work. They will continue to build their skills, allowing them to gain the experience required to move into more senior roles and undertake further training if desired. This could include working towards Room Leader status or focusing on supporting children with SEND for example.

Working Hours :
Monday - Friday with one day being assigned to college or online learning. Your shifts will be agreed at the interview, and they will be between 7.30am and 6pm.
