Apprentice HGV Vehicle Technician

To assist with scheduled maintenance and repairs on vehicles, plant and machinery as required by the Team Leader (Transport Services) To learn how to diagnose vehicle issues and discuss findings with colleagues and the Supervisor To work as part of a team to help provide a repair and maintenance service for all fleet vehicles, plant and machinery To accompany existing workshop staff to vehicle and equipment breakdowns as and when necessary To help repair and maintain the Council’s vehicles in accordance with the planned servicing schedule, guidance from the Vehicle Technicians if required or as directed by the Team Leader To assist the Transport Services Team in achieving targets and goals as required To comply with all internal and external safety policy and to always work in a safe manner both individually and as a team Be prepared to undertake internal or external training to help meet the standards required by the Team Leader (Transport Services) Ensure workshop equipment and facilities are kept clean, safe and well maintained Work in a positive and collaborative manner within the Fleet Services and Neighbourhood Services Team

Training:
Block release to Stephenson College, Coalville Functional skills if necessary On-the-job training Off-the-job training

Monday to Thursday, 07:30 - 15:30 & Friday, 07:30 - 15:00
