Livestock Technician Apprenticeship Level 3 - Doggaport Farm

Being a part of a team is the key to this great new apprenticeship! Helping to look after our dairy and the beef and sheep stock on this family run farm, you will become an integral part of the team.

This is great opportunity to grow with a career in agriculture, as there are opportunities for permanent employment and further development following the Level 3 Apprenticeship Qualification.  

We may also consider candidates for a Level 2 General Farm Worker apprenticeship if they have a tractor licence and some related experience. 

Each day may bring new challenges and opportunities, including dealing with the Great British weather and animals with minds of their own!

The main duties will include but are not limited to:  

Operating farm machinery including tractors, telehandlers and attachments   Monitoring livestock   Monitoring supplies stock e.g. livestock feed etc   Handling livestock and providing appropriate accommodation for them   Working in a team and keeping records.

Training:
You will be supported by an assessor throughout your apprenticeship.  As you progress through your apprenticeship your duties and responsibilities will alter as you develop the skills for a successful career in agriculture Training will be a mix of face to face and online learning You will gain a Livestock Technician Level 3 qualification with further opportunities for training, development and permanent employment upon completion Functional Skills in maths and English if required

Doggaport Farm is a dairy, beef and sheep stock family run farm based in Torrington, Devon.

Working Hours :
Monday to Sunday between 06:30-19:30 on a rota system
