Level 2 Bricklaying Apprenticeship - Waltham Forest

Bricklayers lay bricks, blocks and other types of building components in mortar to construct and repair walls, foundations, partitions, arches, and other structures, e.g., chimney stack. They might also refurbish brickwork and masonry on restoration projects. 

The main duties and tasks of a Bricklaying Apprentice are:

General labouring, tidying of site, and tool/equipment fetching Mixing and turning mortar, loading boards Moving, stacking, and passing bricks Laying of bricks and blocks

As with any trade apprenticeship, you will spend up to 6 months doing general work relating to the trade. The quicker you learn these tasks and showcase your work ethic and ability, the quicker you will progress into laying bricks/blocks. This work will still be beneficial for adding to your portfolio and skillset.



Training:

Apprentices without level 1 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment.



Training Outcome:

On completion of this apprenticeship, you can progress into work as a qualified Junior Bricklayer where, with more experience, you can look to progress into a senior bricklaying position, site/contracts/project management, self-employment, or brickwork business owner.

You will be eligible for the Skilled Worker (Blue) CSCS Card after completing the level 2 qualification.

Evolve is a not-for-profit organisation that manages the CITB Shared Apprenticeship Scheme within London. In other terms, we offer construction apprenticeships!

Working Hours :
Monday-Friday, weekends may be an option. Minimum of 35 hours per week but potential for more. Approx. 8am - 5pm but hours will be confirmed by contractor after successfully passing the Stage 1 & 2 Interview.
