Apprentice Teaching Assistant Level 3

The right candidate will communicate using the same language, values, and expectations as our teaching staff to ensure that students experience a consistent and cohesive approach throughout their learning journey.

Demonstrates a genuine enthusiasm for working with children and supporting them in their academic, social, and emotional development; Approaches every aspect of their work—and every member of our school community—with positivity, professionalism, and respect; Possesses strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a dedicated school team; Is committed to enabling every child to achieve their full potential through encouragement, understanding, and high expectations; Is willing to contribute to the wider life of the school through involvement in extra-curricular activities; Has an interest in developing their knowledge and understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and is eager to support the learning of children with additional needs.

Training:

Provider: Halesowen College
Location: Bishop Milner Catholic College
Duration: 18 months
Delivery Model: Blended learning – day release at Halesowen College, on-the-job training, and regular assessor visits on site.



Training Outcome:

After a Teaching Assistant apprenticeship, you can progress to roles like Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), SEN support, or learning mentor. With further study, you could qualify as a teacher, move into pastoral or administrative school roles, or pursue related careers such as youth work or speech therapy support.
