Mechanical Assembler/Fitter Apprenticeship

As a Mechanical Assembler/Fitter apprentice, you will learn all the skills you need to become fully qualified and able to work confidently across the whole production area.

To help you build these skills, you will spend time in different parts of the workshop, working alongside experienced Assemblers and Fitters. They will show you how each process works so you can learn hands-on and understand the full job.

What the Job Involves:

Working from build boards – You will check which jobs need doing next and pick out the correct parts for each assembly.

Using drawings and instructions – Engineering drawings and written instructions will guide you through each step of the build. You’ll learn how to follow them to carry out the assembly safely and correctly.

Checking parts – You will make sure all the parts are present and correct. If anything is missing or damaged, you will then report it to your supervisor or the Quality Assurance team.

Assembling the products – You will put the units together using tools such as air tools and spanners, following the set procedures.

Testing your work – Once the product is built, you will test it to make sure it meets the customer’s requirements.

Recording results – After testing, you will log the results and pass them to Quality Assurance.

You will be fully trained and achieve a Level 3 Engineering Fitter qualification. This is a great opportunity with generous pay.

College attendance will be at the Bedford College Campus one day a week, which will begin in September 2026. However, you will begin the apprenticeship training as soon as you begin working with the employer.



Training:
Level 3 Engineering Fitter Level 2 Functional Skills in English and maths if required

Training Outcome:

To become a fully skilled Mechanical Assembler/Fitter progressing through the company for a long and successful career with Twiflex on completion of the apprenticeship.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday between 8:00am to 4:30pm.
