Apprentice ​Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer

Supporting the operations of a modern manufacturing facility, the role will include applying your technical skills to overcome problems Electrical exposure to PLC’s and fault finding, installing and wiring up new equipment, understanding electrical drawings, testing electrical components, isolation and inspection of electrical items, including exposure to both the LV & HV Networks Mechanical exposure will include hydraulics, welding, overhauling and installing mechanical components, understanding engineering drawings and bench fitting activities in the workshop The type of work will vary from inspections, servicing and project-based work, with the aim to become more reliable

Skills required:

Must be able to work on your own and as part of a team Good organisational and time management skills Good problem solving skills Full mobility to enable travel to various project locations 

Personal qualities the candidate must have:

General interest in electrical and mechanical engineering General interest in automation and machinery Enthusiastic and ambitious, with an interest in modern methods of construction Willing to be hands-on and become a key member of the maintenance team

Training:
During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study You will return to your workplace one Friday per month.  After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job
