Apprentice Forklift & Power Access Engineer
Assist qualified engineers with the inspection, servicing, and repair of powered access equipment, including scissor lifts and boom lifts
Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) under supervision to ensure equipment is safe and ready for hire
Learn how to diagnose faults and carry out basic mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs
Support LOLER inspections by preparing equipment and assisting with checks and documentation
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
Complete job sheets, inspection records, and basic reports accurately
Assist with loading, unloading, and movement of equipment within the depot
Training:
Lift truck and powered access engineering technician level 3.
Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the End-Point Assessment.
The training will consist of ‘on the job’ and ‘off the job’ training.
The ‘off the job’ training includes academic learning which is managed by North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College.
You will be required to attend college on a block release basis for one week every 6 weeks. Employer will pay for travel costs, as well as all food expenses and accommodation, if required. As well as attending college, you will be required to complete a number of assignments and collect your own evidence towards your portfolio.
Training Outcome:
On successful completion of the apprenticeship, there is the opportunity to progress into a qualified Engineer role within the company. Further training and development may be available, including manufacturer training, LOLER certification, and progression into senior engineer or mobile engineer roles. Our services include the hire, delivery, inspection, maintenance, and repair of access equipment such as scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other working-at-height machinery. We work closely with our customers to ensure equipment is supplied safely, on time, and in full compliance with health and safety regulations.
Working Hours :
Monday – Friday. Under 18: 08:30 to 17:30. Over 18: 08:30 to 18:00 plus 1 Saturday per month for 6 hours.
