Apprentice Admin Assistant at Fagley Primary
The governors of Fagley Primary School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly skilled Apprentice Admin Assistant to support the School Business Manager and wider school.

ORGANISATION:
Undertake reception duties, answering routine telephone and face to face enquiries and signing in visitors To support/assist in the supervision of students on work experience, trainees and voluntary helpers Assist with pupil first aid/welfare duties, looking after sick pupils, liaising with parents/staff etc. To administer the provision of confidential secretarial, word processing, financial and other support services to the school To provide reports, newsletters and to work with Inclusion Mentor to increase attendance in school and to keep up to date records on SIMS along with inputting data, after registers are taken and to make absence calls. Send correspondence for non-attendance and issue penalty notices Liaise with Bradford Council Admissions regarding admissions to school Maintain and update Arbor database for all pupils including new starters and leavers To order requisitions for school supplies Ensure all uniform is ordered when necessary and there is sufficient stock available in school Ensure inventory system is kept up to date and ID badges ordered and entered onto the system when required Update Teachers2Parents text messaging service for staff, pupils and various groups and send messages when required Update website with newsletters, attendance and after school information To assist in providing reception duties when requiredADMINISTRATION:
Provide a high level of clerical support e.g. record and circulate messages to other members of staff, diary management, photocopying, filing, scanning, emailing, complete routine forms, sort and distribute mail, ensuring supplies of internal forms are kept well stocked Maintain manual systems Maintain and collate pupil reports Data inputting of computerised records/management information systems Produce data/information/basic reports as required e.g. pupils’ data Undertake typing, word-processing and other IT based tasks (letters, memos, minutes etc). Undertake routine administration, e.g. registers/school meals/arranging and coordinating meetings on behalf of other school staff/room bookings/minute taking/retrieve and disseminate information as appropriate to the needs of the school/school lettings and other uses of school premisesATTENDANCE:
Attendance Officer Complete daily attendance checks Ensure the attendance policy procedure is followed Complete attendance monitoring tracker Analyse whole school attendance and compare to national standards To track and report on improvements through analysis Track and report on consistently low attendance Analysis of absence of specific children with next steps in place to remedy this through meetings with parents/carers Home visits in line with attendance policyTraining:
Business Administrator Level 3.
The apprentice is expected to log six hours per week in off the job training. This will include monthly online training sessions with the tutor, monthly assessor workplace visits and time set aside in the workplace for self-study and coursework to complete their apprenticeship portfolio.
Training Outcome:
The administration role may be a gateway to further career opportunities, such as management or senior support roles The employer is looking to offer a permanent position upon successful completion of the apprenticeship
