ICT Apprentice

Keech Hospice in Luton provide free specialist end-of-life hospice care for people of all ages. Caring and supporting adults across Bedfordshire and children and their families across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, and Milton Keynes with life-limiting conditions. At home, in hospice, or wherever they are needed.

They now have an amazing opportunity for someone who is looking to begin a career in IT.

They are looking for an apprentice to join their friendly team.
So what will you be doing in this role?

You will provide technical support to Keech Hospice staff, you will learn the skills to:

Provide first line technical support to resolve operational ICT problems for Keech Hospice staff.
Escalate technical issues to Managed Service Provider (MSP) helpdesk as required.
Work with staff, MSP, ICT Systems Manager, external support providers in providing a full suite of ICT support.
Provide guidance and support to staff to allow them to resolve their own technical issues.
Highlight repeat/major issues to wider ICT team for action.

You will also deploy ICT equipment across the organisation:

To raise request for, take delivery of, and setup equipment.
Identify areas of concern with existing equipment.
Decommission end of service equipment.
To work with wider ICT team to make recommendations and improvements.

To liaise as appropriate with external ICT contractors:

You will support staff to resolve ICT issues in a timely manner.
Liaise with ICT suppliers/contractors to resolve issues that require external support or intervention and liaise with other relevant external contractors as required.

To improve ICT practices within Keech Hospice:

You will assist with implementing ICT and digital developments across the organisation, and also assist with implementing improved ICT and digital practices across the organisation.
Report potential improvements to the ICT Systems Manager.
Assist in developing staff to acquire skills and understanding to improve their ICT and digital practices.
Work to ensure that physical and technical ICT security and information governance policies and procedures are adhered to.

Other tasks appropriate to the post, which may be allocated from time to time after prior discussion.

Monday - Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm
