Apprentice Operating Department Practitioner (ODP)
Develop knowledge, skills and competencies related to the role through completion of a BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practice apprenticeship
Work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual
Carry out specific delegated clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or other registered care professionals dependent on setting
Training:
Qualification degree: BSc (Hons)Operating Department Practice
Attend university in week long blocks approx every 6 weeks with Canterbury Christchurch University delivered in the Sussex region or online
Placements to develop knowledge and skills for three core areas identified as: the anaesthetic phase, the surgical phase and the post anaesthetic (recovery) phase
Mostly delivered within the operating theatre in the hospital but some will be external placements for procedures not offered on site
Training Outcome:
Working as a qualified Operating Department Practitioner within a theatre environment

Working Hours :
Days to be worked on a rota basis Monday - Sunday - 4 days per week 08:00 - 18:00 per day
