Horticulture Apprentice - Level 2
Our gardens are heritage sites, and homes to the most extensive plant collection in Europe, and our gardeners are responsible for the conservation and development of plant collections and the gardens to increasing numbers of members and visitors. Our gardens are much loved and visited from far and wide by many and you’ll be part of the team of professionals caring for all aspects of the heritage gardens in the portfolio.
Woolbeding Gardens is a 20th Century garden that is still developing, thanks to the late Hon. Simon Sainsbury, and his life partner Stewart Grimshaw. The gardeners strive for high horticultural standards throughout, with the garden offering something for everyone. Whether the colour-themed borders of the formal garden rooms, or the Bannerman-designed pleasure garden with its range of follies and woody plants, or the Silk Route Garden created in a naturalistic style, all areas are carefully managed by the skilled gardener team and volunteers. Next will be a new propagation facility to replace the current propagation glasshouses.
