Apprentice Construction Site Groundworker (Ref GSA-0001-25)

Working as part of a team, we have a fantastic opportunity for an apprentice to involved in the Groundworks on site, whilst studying for a Level 2 Groundworker Apprenticeship qualification.

Groundworkers are the first trade on to a construction and civil engineering site and they work closely with supervisors and engineers in interpreting design specifications to prepare the site ready for the structural building works to take place. They continue their work throughout the construction phase, working with all on-site construction trades, such as bricklayers and plant operatives, up to and including the final completion activities of the project. This apprenticeship will include working alongside qualified staff and learning all aspects of Groundworkers including:

Adhering to Health & Safety Setting out and preparing the sub-surfaces Interpreting plans and drawings Site clearance Marking out & digging foundation sub levels Heavy earth moving and deep excavation work Unloading and storing building materials Installing drainage systems Constructing roads and pathways Assisting with road drainage and attenuation works Carrying out finished hard landscaping Working with a banksman General labouring Keeping work area clean and tidy Clearing up at the end of the day

Training:
On successful completion of the Apprenticeship the successful applicant will gain a Level 2 Groundworker qualification and Functional Skills (if required). In addition to site experience, the apprentice will receive formal off the job training by way of remote sessions and tutor visits to site.

Training Outcome:
On successful completion of the Apprenticeship, there will be opportunity to move into full time employment

Employer Description:
Training & Apprenticeships in Construction Ltd (TrAC) is a DfE approved Flexi Job Apprenticeship Agency who will employ you for the duration of the apprenticeship and pay your salary. You should be aware that you will be placed with a host employer but you will not be employed by them. Your placement may change during the course of your apprenticeship but TrAC will employ you throughout, as well as continuing to support you into employment or further learning at the end of your apprenticeship.

Working Hours :
Monday - Friday, between 8.00am - 5.00pm.
