Apprentice Physiologist - Neurophysiology
Independently plan and deliver routine and complex EEG investigations on all patient groups in
dedicated and non-dedicated environments
Take a full clinical history and adjust investigations as required following departmental protocols and SOPs, and advise medical staff of adjustments made
Provide an accurate factual report in line with departmental standards and discuss such reports with colleagues and medical staff as required
Provide timely, efficient and effective clinics independently
Independently plan and deliver evoked potential clinics
Assist and report a range of sleep studies
Work alone at satellite departments as required performing routine and complex EEG investigations
Training:
To undertake a degree apprenticeship in Healthcare Science Practitioner level 6, specialising in Neurophysiology which is delivered at The University of the West of England for which you will need to travel, and attaining the ANS part 1 professional examination. The degree is funded and the successful candidate will be given a fixed amount for travel and subsistence. The ANS part 1 examination will be self-funded.
Training Outcome:
Fixed term: 48 months (Completion of Degree apprenticeship and professional exam prior to substantive post being offered)
