Apprentice Dental Nurse
Providing reassurance and support to patients throughout the treatment process
Explaining procedures and answering patient questions
Passing instruments and materials to the dentist during procedures
Assisting with taking dental impressions, radiographs, and other procedures
Preparing and mixing dental materials, such as fillings
Ensuring the sterilisation and proper maintenance of dental equipment and instruments
Adhering to strict infection control protocols and cross-contamination procedures
Maintaining a clean and organized dental practice
Maintaining accurate and complete patient records
Assisting with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries
Taking and processing dental radiographs under the supervision of the dentist
Supporting other members of the dental team
Making appropriate referrals to other healthcare professionals
Training:
Dental Nurse (integrated) Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
The apprenticeship will be delivered as a weekly day release in College
Training Outcome:
To qualify as a nurse and possibly do further training if the candidate wishes to
Employer Description:
We are a dental practice based in Whiston/Prescot. We treat all adult patients privately and see children under the age of 18 on the NHS. We have a small plan for children and see these privately.
Working Hours :
Monday - Thursday, 8.40am - 6.00pm and Friday, 8.40am - 5.00pm with 1 hour lunch break.
(Wednesday: College Day)
