General Farm Worker Apprentice

Milking as part of a 3 person team Feeding/working with livestock General farm maintenance e.g. Fencing, building maintenance, cleaning

Training:

General Farm Worker Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard:

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying

Training Outcome:
For the right candidate a full time position is likely to be on offer – as either a general farm worker or in a specific area of interest if the right qualities are identified i.e. Full time Tractor driver or herdsperson

Employer Description:
We are a family run, forward thinking modern Dairy farm milking 580 high yielding Pedigree Holstein Friesians 3 times a day through a 40:40 Herringbone parlour. We rear our own replacements plus approx.100 beef cattle. We do all field operations ourselves (apart from Maize drilling) – so it’s generally pretty busy!

Working Hours :
Monday - Friday, 7.00am – 5.00pm; 1 hour unpaid breaks & Saturday, 7.00am - 1.00pm
