Welding Supervisor

AA Euro Group are seeking a Welding Supervisor to join a leading mechanical contractor renowned for delivering complex packages on high security and technically demanding projects. This is a long term paye position based on site at Hinkley Point nuclear plant.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise site welding operations, ensuring safe and effective task execution.Deliver toolbox talks and promote safety culture, including hazard awareness and error prevention.Plan and allocate workloads, monitor performance, and maintain productivity across the welding team.Ensure compliance with quality standards, carry out inspections, and manage weld documentation and traceability.Support investigations into weld repairs and share lessons learned through internal processes.Liaise with engineers and subcontractors to coordinate activities such as NDT, heat treatment, and materials supply.Manage consumables and equipment, including estimation, ordering, and storage.Handle first-line personnel issues, assessments, and reporting to senior management.

Key Requirements:

3 years experience as a production welder with 6 months experience in operating welding stores.1 year experience as a charge handKnowledge on how to use Internal Welding systemWorking knowledge / experience of TIG, MMA, FCAW, MIG and applicationsExperience of supervising in manufacturing, thermal, petrochemical and nuclear environments.Basic estimation and ordering of welding consumables via materials control.Ordering and deploying welding power sources and ancillary equipment.Mentoring and coaching trainees.

Qualifications:

Full Apprenticeship in welding or NVQ 3 or equivalent in WeldingNVQ / QCF 3 or above in Supervisory ManagementCSWIP 3.1 Welding InspectorECITB SMTD Modules as requiredCCNSG Safety Passport or IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH Cert
