Apprentice Assistant Practitioner (Therapies)

We are looking for a qualified or trainee Assistant Practitioner to work within our friendly therapy team alongside registered therapy colleagues delivering high-quality rehabilitation to people in their own homes.   You will carry a caseload delegated by the nominated clinician, and be responsible for interventions with patients. You will carry out the assessment of an individual’s level of function and consider the person's activities in daily living. You will plan and modify treatment programmes and will work closely with other staff from the team to ensure high-quality therapy outcomes for your patients.

Training:
The training will take place at UCLan in Preston and on-site at Westmorland General Hospital

Training Outcome:

To work as a qualified Assistant Practitioner, with opportunities for further study and progression afterwards. 

Employer Description:
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI) Lancaster and Westmorland General (WGH) Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom hospital and GP practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe and Ulverston Community health centre. FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services with full Emergency Department and Critical/ Coronary Care Units and various Consultant Lead Services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care, including Outpatient, Diagnostics, Therapies, Day Case, Inpatient Surgery. Community Facilities provide a local Outreach Service and Diagnostics within Morecambe Bay. Our Community Services for adults are provided in people’s homes, Community Centres, Clinics, GP Practices, Community Hospitals and our General Hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independence, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, health educations, advice and support.

Working Hours :
Service hours Monday - Friday between 8am -6pm and Saturday and Sunday between 9am -5pm. Shifts TBC between these hours.
