Bricklayer Apprentice

Apprentice bricklayers will work alongside qualified and experienced bricklayers learning the trade and assisting in all aspects of bricklaying, including:

Brickwork Blockwork Other duties as and when required

Bricklayers lay bricks, blocks and other types of building components in mortar to construct and repair walls, foundations and other structures.

Working safely and responsibly at all times, with a positive and enthusiastic approach to work and training.

Training:

The qualification the apprentice will receive at the end of the apprenticeship will be the Level 2 Bricklayer. The successful applicant will first work towards the Bricklayer apprenticeship standard level 2.

The bricklayer apprenticeship is designed to equip participants with the fundamentals required to work in any construction environment. The programme is delivered using a blend of online, anytime learning and expert-led classroom training covering core topics. This is an ideal start for aspiring bricklayers looking to take the first step in their career.

Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours – Learners and employers will have a range of options to select from that cover each knowledge module of the apprenticeship standard. 

Functional Skills in English and maths if required - These provide practical skills to help gain the most out of work, education and everyday life.

Training Outcome:
For the right person, there may be a full-time opportunity for the apprentice If it transpires that continued employment with Persimmon Homes is not the preferred option, the training and experience gained throughout the apprenticeship will stand the apprentice in very good stead to gain future employment

Mon-Thurs 8hrs / Fri 7 hrs. Shifts tbc.
