Carpentry Apprentice
Apprentice Carpenters will work alongside qualified and experienced staff learning the trade and assisting in all aspects of carpentry, including:
1st fix; floor joists, Roof carcase, door linings, staircases 2nd fix; hanging doors, skirtings and architraves Fitting door furniture Working safely and responsibly at all times, with a positive and enthusiastic approach to work and trainingTraining:
The successful applicant will first work towards the Carpentry & Joinery Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard The Apprenticeship is designed to equip participants with the fundamentals required to work in any construction environment The programme is delivered using a blend of on-line, anytime learning and expert-led classroom training covering core topics. This is an ideal start for aspiring carpenters looking to take the first step in their careers Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours – Learners and employers will have a range of options to select from that cover each knowledge module of the apprenticeship standard Functional Skills in English and maths if required - These provide practical skills to help gain the most out of work, education and everyday life
Training Outcome:
For the right person, there may be a full-time opportunity for the apprentice If it transpires that continued employment with Persimmon Homes is not the preferred option, the training and experience gained throughout the apprenticeship will stand the apprentice in very good stead to gain future employment
