Employer Description:
Bickleigh Down is a larger than average Church of England Aided Primary school maintained by Devon local authority. The school is situated close to the border between Plymouth and Devon. The school serves a mixed catchment area of Plymouth and South Hams: a mixture of urban and rural environments. Bickleigh has a PAN of sixty and is full or almost full in every year group. The local and wider community hold the school in high esteem and many families choose to move into the catchment area because of the positive feedback we receive. Bickleigh Down is a Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School. We are very proud of our Christian ethos which has a marked impact on standards of academic achievement as well as relationships and behaviour. A recent SIAMS inspection in June 2022 judged the school to be ‘Excellent’. This demonstrates the impact of the strong emphasis we put on personal development at Bickleigh Down.
