Main Roles and Responsibilities:

Assist in the disassembly, inspection, overhaul, and refurbishment of industrial valves including safety, pressure relief, isolation, and control valves
Support pre-test procedures using our in-house test rigs, with testing conducted to standards such as API 527
Help with the cleaning, blasting, machining, and lapping of valve components to restore functionality and ensure compliance
Identify and report signs of wear or failure during inspection stages
Replace worn or damaged parts including gaskets, seals, packings, and internal components
Assist with reassembly and pressure testing, producing detailed test reports and certification
Participate in the coating and protection process to prepare valves for dispatch, including painting and the fitting.
Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings, both mechanical and schematic
Engage in fault finding, reverse engineering, and general mechanical fitting tasks
Collaborate closely with team members while following company safety and quality procedures

An established Medical Devices company based in the Walsall area is currently looking for a new Quality Engineer to assist with the teams CAPA processes, document control and supplier management. They are specifically looking for someone who has worked in Medical Devices to ISO 13485 standards.
You will be creating and managing technical files for several Medical Devices lines. You’ll collaborate with a number of Medical Devices experts. However, you will receive Quality Assurance assistance from the parent company’s Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs Manager. Due to this, we are open to candidates who only have a couple of years of experience of ISO 13485 or QMS, but also keen to hear from people with more experience.
A key area of experience that is needed for this role is quality assurance inspection testing, so please make this experience clear on your CV.

The Apprentice CNC Machinist will spend time within the machine shop and will learn about CNC milling and CNC turning. The apprentice will be involved with manufacturing aerospace components made from aluminium, stainless and mild steel.

As an apprentice, you will be highly trained to work in the world of Engineering and Manufacturing in the Food Industry Sector the world’s leading supplier of Food Packaging Machines and Equipment.
The initial training and development phase will provide broad-based exposure to various aspects of electrical engineering within food packaging systems and production lines.
Following this phase, the successful candidate will be appointed as an Electrical Project Engineer, with a focus on the electrical functional design of automation systems. This role involves using proprietary software and engineering tools to create detailed electrical designs, which will be implemented, installed, and commissioned at customer sites.
The roles mentioned above will feature a range different engineering activities aligned to the job roles with a detailed development plan for the four years of their apprenticeship programme.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in designing control panels, wiring layouts, and PLC integration of both Ishida manufactured equipment and OEM suppliers.
Help ensure all designs comply with hygiene and safety standards (e.g. ISO, CE, EHEDG, IP ratings etc).
Assist with Project Planning and Equipment Integration
Collaborate on integrating electrical systems into existing production lines with minimal downtime.
Help prepare electrical specifications, BOMs (bills of materials), and documentation packages for new equipment installations.
Support senior engineers during site visits to install and commission equipment.
Assist in I/O checks, motor testing, sensor calibration, and verifying automation functionality.
Aid in FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) procedures.
Help troubleshoot and validate system performance based on food industry requirements.
Help maintain accurate as-built drawings and manuals for electrical systems.
Continuous Learning and Industry Familiarization
Learn the unique challenges of the food production environment, including washdown requirements, clean design principles, and equipment reliability.
Participate in training on automation systems, food safety standards.
Training:Together with invaluable commercial and practical experience, you’ll work towards several academic and vocational qualification levels throughout your time with us, which are fully paid for, including:
Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Foundation Competence – in year 1, in 6 week blocks to include 4 weeks at Make UK and 2 weeks in company
Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Development Competence - in years 2 to 4 in company
Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Development Knowledge - in Years 2 & 3 on block release to Make UK

The apprenticeship involves attending Newbury College/University Centre Newbury one day a week during Term Time for four academic years.
The Apprentice will be supported throughout by a Development Coach from Newbury College who will hold regular reviews and occasional visits to the workplace.
At the end of your apprenticeship you will have completed the Level 6 Product Design and Development Engineer (Degree) Apprenticeship Standard and will be required to complete an End Point Assessment (EPA).

Training Outcome:

Order Management: Process and manage customer orders from receipt to dispatch, ensuring they are delivered on time, meet customer specifications and stay within budget.
Customer & Department Liaison: Liaise with customers and factory departments on approvals, manufacturing, delivery, site work and inspections.
Contract Documentation: Prepare and submit contract documentation (e.g., electrical schematics, third angle projection drawings, manuals)
Contract Review: Review contract performance regularly to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
Progress Reporting: Provide feedback to the Team Manager on the progress of all contracts.
Stage gate management, lessons learnt etc.
Collaboration with Teams: Collaborate with tendering, production, aftermarket and sales teams to manage contracts and meet customer requirements.

Primarily based in the workplace
Apprentices attend Loughborough College on block release to study Level 4 Higher National Certificate/Higher Technical Qualification in Engineering.
Trainer / Assessor to visit in the workplace
