About the Health Service
This regional emergency medicine service is based in North West Tasmania, providing acute and subacute care across two main hospital sites and serving a population of approximately 116,000. The emergency departments see a combined 60,000+ presentations per year and are well-equipped with 24/7 pathology and radiology support.
Services include general medicine, trauma, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics, ICU, and mental health. Staff enjoy a collaborative culture, with opportunities to participate in EMET outreach programs to rural locations, including remote island and inland communities.

Position Details
As a Staff Specialist – Emergency Medicine, you will:
Deliver specialist emergency medical care across two emergency departments.
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior doctors, registrars, and trainees.
Participate in teaching programs for undergraduate, postgraduate, and rural outreach education (e.g., EMET).
Be involved in quality improvement, research, and service development.
Engage in retrieval medicine and provide support to rural GPs and district hospitals.
