The Role:
This post involves working as a Teaching Assistant during the school day and being a playworker in our popular and oversubscribed After School Club on some days of the week. The role involves supporting class teachers and SENDCo, working with individual children, supervising and supporting at lunchtimes and running small group interventions
Main Duties:
Supervise and support all pupils, including those with special needs
Promote safety, inclusion, interaction, independence, and self-esteem
Encourage engagement in learning and provide feedback under teacher guidance
Administer First Aid (training provided)
Help maintain a positive classroom environment and display pupils’ work
Assist with lesson planning and pupil progress tracking
Provide feedback to teachers and support behaviour management
Build relationships with parents and assist with admin tasks
Work with children in various settings (indoor/outdoor)
Deliver and adjust structured learning activities, including core subjects
Support technology use and manage learning materials
Follow policies on safeguarding, safety, and data protection
Promote equality and contribute to the school’s ethos and CARE values
Collaborate with staff, attend meetings, undertake training, and support school trips
Training:As an apprentice, you will receive support through both on-the-job learning and formal training as part of your apprenticeship programme. This will typically include:
Study towards a relevant qualification, Level 3 Teaching Assistant Diploma
On-the-job training and mentoring from experienced professionals
Regular review meetings to track progress and development

Role Purpose:
To provide horticultural and landscaping support across Eden, whilst being provided with on-the-job training. During the first 3 years of the ABC Studio existence, the same Mum welcomed thousands of parents and had hundreds of conversations. And what seemed to be on everyone’s mind was the lack of not only a soft play places but, most importantly, the shortage of decent local day childcare.
So Mum came up with a new plan - to open a nursery. And not just any nursery but one that would put a Loving, Sustainable and Planet-friendly approach at its very foundation.
She was familiar with the sense of guilt and anxiety parents face when sending their little ones to nursery. And the only way to ease the pressure is to find a nursery that would be just like home - loving, safe and warm. And with all these ideas and great intentions ABC Studio Childcare Peckham was born in 2020.
