My client is one of the most recognised and successful law firms in the UK, with over 30 years experience and has seven offices across the UK.
They are now looking to expand further into their Manchester office and are looking for legal advisors to manage a caseload of Fast Track RTA cases through all stages of the investigation and litigation process.
To deliver robust quality claims handling, with a key focus on client outcomes, to generate fee income and to contribute to the general success of the business.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for a high volume caseload of Fast Track Personal Injury RTA claims, making use of the firms Case Management Systems and using the agreed internal procedures and practices.
- To progress your caseload in a manner to ensure that clients receive appropriate, professional, timely and pertinent legal advice, with regular contact, whilst managing their expectations.
- To deal with cases with denial of liability and causation arguments with minimal supervision.
- To be able to assess liability and quantum to include reviewing medical reports, researching and obtaining relevant case law, drafting schedules of special damages and assessing suitable awards for compensation.
- To identify early those cases where proceedings would be tactically beneficial to litigate and to do so expeditiously.
- Take a practical but commercial approach to settlements and advising clients as to litigation/cost risks.
- To achieve and exceed various targets set in relation to, for example, profit costs and issuing, without compromising the firms integrity.
- To liaise appropriately and timely with sources, medical agencies, experts, third party insurers and other relevant parties to ensure that cases are pro-actively progressed.
- To attend, where appropriate, court hearings to make representations in respect of the claim before the judiciary. Where necessary, and in accordance with the firms internal policies and procedures, to instruct Barristers to represent clients at hearings and obtain formal Advice over issues of quantum and liability.
- Perform to a high level in a target orientated environment.
- To undertake any other tasks as deemed relevant and reasonable by the business.
Experience and Knowledge
- Substantial experience of managing your own caseload of Fast Track RTA litigated claims.
- Excellent litigator with strong drafting skills and the ability to negotiate appropriate settlements at the optimum time.
- A solid working knowledge of the CPR, legislation and relevant case law
- Competent working with a case management system and good knowledge of MS Office
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Focus on delivering quality service to clients and the firm.

Compliance Support:
Assist in ensuring the business complies with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
Maintain up-to-date records of compliance documentation, policies, and procedures
Chase candidates for required compliance documents, such as references, DBS checks, proof of qualifications, National Insurance number, identification documents, and Right to Work verification
Assist in preparing reports for audits and compliance checks

Take direction from Sales Consultants and provide administrative support to the sales team

Maintain accurate digital and physical filing systems for compliance and sales documents
Assist in data entry and database management to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity of all information

Health & Safety Support
Assist in compiling and analysing statistical data on accidents, incidents, and near misses.
Support the investigation of incidents and help identify root causes and corrective actions.

Training:You will be supported to achieve the Safety, Health and Environment Level 3 apprenticeship. Theoretical training will be delivered with the support of the training provider. Practical training and support will be given in the workplace, allowing you to embed your learning in the working environment. You will receive 6 hours per week to support your apprenticeship studies. Responsible for the commissioning, service, and maintenance of a range of waste incineration, human cremation, and pet cremation equipment.
Installations can range from a simple, small-scale incineration unit featuring diesel-fueled package burners and relay logic control panel, to large scale fully automated systems utilising natural gas-fueled burners, a range of electromechanical components, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC-based control systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following; other duties may be assigned
Carry out commissioning of equipment including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and operator training
Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance activities as defined by the equipment O&M manuals
Respond to emergency callouts to fault find and carry out reactive maintenance activities to bring the installation back to full operation efficiently
Carry out upgrade works as required to ensure installations remain in full operational condition and in line with current technology/legislation etc.
Liaise with the stores department to ensure all equipment required for each particular job is available for the scheduled visit
Complete all necessary documentation associated with service activities including but not limited to Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Permits to Work
Assist with the generation, and ongoing development of departmental documentation such as service sheets, site spares lists etc. in line with the company's policy of continuous improvement
Ensure that all clients are actively informed of work progression, as required, communicate with clients to build relationships and ensure a quality of customer service
Complete all documentation required to evidence the visit and liaise with Service Management to ensure that clients are appropriately charged for work undertaken
Ensure that company vehicle, tools and van stock are maintained as required
Promote the sales of maintenance agreements, spares, upgrades and consumables
Look for new sales opportunities and liaise with wider business to ensure we are positioned correctly to exploit such opportunities
Due to the nature of some of the projects the applicant must have a flexible approach to work requirements and hours of work
