THE ROLE
My client is now seeking an Intermediate Employer's Agent to join them in Birmingham.
You will need to have experience working as a Building Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor or Project Manager and either already have some experience of the Employer's Agent role of be keen to move into an EA role.
You will work on high value projects either for housing or education construction projects.
THE COMPANY
My client is a successful sizeable firm of construction consultants with a number of UK offices.
They provide cost management, project management, building surveying and employers agent and other services.
Clients are mainly in the public and private sectors.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be a preferably Chartered Quantity Surveyor or Building Surveyor or Project Manager.
You will either already have some experience of the Employer's Agent role or be keen to move into an EA role.
You should be MRICS qualified or about to do your APC.
You will need to have experience of administering the contract in particular for Design & Build contracts.
You will manage the contractual process including issuing instructions, managing changes, ensuring compliance with the contract terms.
You will oversee the Cost Management and you will ensure that the project is delivered on time and within budget.
You will also monitor the quality of the work and monitor the progress on site.
You must have excellent client facing skills and be confident and articulate.
You must have excellent English to write formal reports and documents.
Salary is negotiable but likely to be in the range of £40000 to £50000 per annum according to your experience and there is a good pension scheme, life assurance at 4 times salary, a health plan, professional fees paid, twice yearly salary review etc.

You will have good all round experience of building surveying but in particular for this role you will need to have good project experience to run projects on behalf of clients doing refurbishment, alterations, new build etc.
You will be able to do the initial survey, write specs and reports, put the work out to tender so deal with the contractors, supervise the contractors on site.
It is not necessary for you to have design or drawing experience and others in the firm can do that but if you do your own drawings it would be useful.
