Newton Colmore is working with a biotech in Cambridge, and we are searching for an experienced project leader to join their drug discovery team.
This is an excellent opportunity where you will be able to make a real difference with your work, developing therapeutics that aim to improve the patient’s life, taking research from inception all the way through to clinical trials.
You will be utilising your molecular biology and drug discovery expertise to lead research projects in the field of oncology, manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of scientists and build upon a successful pipeline of therapeutics.
Reporting directly to the director of oncology, you will be using your deep knowledge of mechanistic biology to lead research programmes through the hit-to-lead phase and implementing screening cascades. You will also be responsible for selecting the right CRO for the project and managing that relationship.
The company utilise in-house and unique technologies that aims to develop novel therapeutics that cannot be achieved with conventional small molecule methods.

Selling a range of infection control products (Alcohol Wipes, Chlorine Wipes, Detergent Wipes, Disinfectant Wipes & Skin Cleansing Wipes)
Selling 99% into the NHS
70% of the time selling to infection control leads, head of infection control, infection control directors and other KOL's within the hospitals + 30% of the time will be dealing with procurement - very little needs to be done on price as that is set at the contract stage

As well as the ranger base at Fyne Court, you will be working at a variety of sites across the Quantock Hills – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that features heathland and woodland sites that are designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest and require specialised care. We also look after a stretch of historic drove road on the Quantocks featuring overstood beech hedge banks dating back over 100 years, and have numerous veteran trees on our sites which require long term management. We have big ambitions for improving these sites for nature and are currently developing wild flower meadow creation and woodland restoration plans following a large loss of ash trees from our sites. You’ll be working outdoors in all weathers as part of our ranger teams, supporting our strategy to restore a healthy, beautiful and natural environment. Your role will be working to protect and improve the health and wildlife richness of our countryside, preserving all the benefits we get from it and helping our visitors to experience and get closer to conservation of our special outdoor places.
Your training will be delivered via a combination of mandatory week long college blocks and online learning, with all expenses and travel paid. There may also be opportunities to travel to other National Trust locations with some overnight stays to expand your learning and experience.
As well as the ranger base at Fyne Court, you will be working at a variety of sites across the Quantock Hills – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that features heathland and woodland sites that are designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest and require specialised care.
We also look after a stretch of historic drove road on the Quantocks featuring overstood beech hedge banks dating back over 100 years, and have numerous veteran trees on our sites which require long term management.
We have big ambitions for improving these sites for nature and are currently developing wild flower meadow creation and woodland restoration plans following a large loss of ash trees from our sites. Training:Over 33 months, you will develop your knowledge and skills in your chosen field to become a leader pushing development, knowledge generation and innovation.
You will be provided with 6 hours per week by your employer to conduct learning and training during working hours. This can include theory training (for example, virtual lessons & online learning), alongside practical training (for example shadowing, mentoring, & time spent writing assignments.
You’ll be trained by a team of expert tutors from Tiro as well as an experienced workplace mentor at BYK Additives Ltd who, together, will make sure you develop the knowledge, skills, and work habits you’ll need to succeed in your career.Training Outcome:This programme is designed to enable existing team members or new recruits to develop the knowledge skills, and behaviours needed to fulfil their vital role. Once you’ve qualified, you’ll be eligible to join the Register of Science Technicians (RSciTech) through an appropriate industry body. This apprenticeship offers an exceptional platform for you to enhance your leadership skills and take on more significant responsibilities. As you progress, you'll find avenues to further develop your leadership acumen, fostering your ability to guide and inspire teams.
