You will work closely with families, education, health, housing, and other professionals to ensure a smooth transition, especially for those with learning disabilities or autism.

To provide a comprehensive library services at HMP Brixton, ensuring that the highest standards of customer care are maintained and guaranteeing prisoners are not socially excluded from the benefits of the library service.

Main Accountabilities
Responsible for the day to day running of all library provision within HMP Brixton.
The provision of excellent and quality-centred library services designed to meet the recreational, educational, cultural and information needs of prisoners.
To implement targets according to development priorities for the prison library as set out by the Development team or the prison authorities.
The development and maintenance of efficient and effective operations systems (e.g. stock purchasing, cataloguing, circulation management, procedure, etc.).
Assisting the Development Librarians (Adult or Learning) in the development of the library service, undertaking an annual review of the library, updating and modernising the service as necessary.
Responsible to the Head of Learning & Skills for all internal prison operations.
Responsible to the Development Librarians (Adult or Learning) for professional library operations.
Participation in recruiting and selecting Prisoner Assistants as required. Supervising their work and training and that of any other staff assigned to the library (arranging duty rotas, etc.), and completing Individual Learning Plans.
Maintaining awareness of the profile of the prison community and running regular surveys to support reading and information needs.
Selecting within the guidelines laid down by senior and specialist staff a wide range of materials to match user requirements, taking particular care to meet the needs of minority groups and to provide basic skills materials.
Liaising with uniformed prison staff to ensure access to the library for all prisoners.
Liaising with the prison Education Department to provide library support for education courses.
Liaising with other relevant external bodies that support prisoners and their families
Providing an enquiry and reference service tailored to prisoner’s needs and undertaking research where necessary in particularly to support legal queries.
Maintain and promote a local information file, and disseminate information as appropriate, to support rehabilitation on release.
Exploiting stock through a programme of displays, booklets etc. to generate interest and promote reading.
Ensuring a readers’ request service is provided.
Providing user education and giving induction talks on the library.
Preparing reports and statistical returns as may be required by Lambeth Libraries or by the Prison Service.
Representing the Development Librarian – Adult and Learning within the prison and outside the prison as required.
To apply Health and Safety Policy in co-operation with the prison authorities and other staff so as to ensure the safety of staff and prisoners.
To maintain personal, library and prison security.
To carry out and manage effective enrolment, issue, discharge, shelving, renewal and overdue procedures.

At IWM you will specialise in two areas – our Documents collection of historical papers and our Museum Archive of administrative records - although there will be many opportunities to work alongside the other media types in our care. You will also be allocated set time during the working week in order to attend classes and undertake study with WAES, which is undertaken on a modular basis over three years. You will work closely with colleagues across the museum to ensure best practice standards and documentation, and may contribute to exhibitions, publications and other museum projects. In addition to your studies with WAES, there will also be opportunities to attend training courses in various aspects of museum practice both within IWM and externally, as well as attendance at professional conferences and other forums.
The Collections and Curatorial team comprise the museum’s Media Heads, who are specialist curators that champion the management, interpretation, integrity and use of the respective parts of the IWM collection. We act as the most senior curatorial specialists in our areas and interact with many diverse teams across the organisation to provide expertise and assist with analysis of the collections. We provide support and guidance to specialist curators in the Narrative and Curatorial team, are responsible for the shape and strategic development of IWM’s collections in our media areas, and drive and support any associated public programme outputs. Training:The apprentice will complete their Archivist and Records Manager Level 7 apprenticeship with Training Provider, Westminster Adult Education Service (WAES).
They will be employed 5 days a week by Imperial War Museums but receive 1 day off a week (20% Off the Job Learning) for their apprenticeship studies.
Apprentices will attend 1 in-person taught session every 12 weeks at a WAES London site and fortnightly online taught session via Teams in between. To undertake all training and courses associated with the apprenticeship programme
Training:Our apprentices will receive weekly off the job training hours in order to engage with masterclasses, skills festival days, assignments and tasks related to the apprenticeship, online CPD courses and development sessions with their allocated skills coach.
They will acheive the Level 2 Community Activator Coach Apprenticeship Standard with Swimming Specialism alongside sector specific CPD, such as:
STA Level 2 Swim Teacher qualification
Pool maintenance and water testing CPD
Supporting the PE curriculum (swimming focussed)
Behaviour Management
Safeguarding / Prevent
Mental Health and Wellbeing
Digital skills
Functional skills in maths and English (where required)

Applications are invited from suitably-experienced School Nurses to join the Special Needs Secondary School team on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.This is a term-time only role of 38 weeks per year.The role offers an eight year local housing permit, a £5,000 relocation payment and four years of private rental allowance to help offset the cost of private rent.If you have not completed your SCPHN qualification there is the opportunity for this to be funded as part of your role. There are three departments in the school, KS3 (Middle School 11yrs old - 14), KS4 (Senior School 14 - 16) and the Sensory and Communication Department (11 - 19). In some cases, students will remain within the provision up to the age of 25. You will also provides school nursing health support to students with special needs attending the College of Further Education. Due to the nature of the provision student numbers vary year on year, the school has a capacity of 110 students, however the nurse may be supporting up to 140 students across all areas. We follow health action plans, behaviour and epilepsy plans, and thorough risk assessments. Some individuals are mobile, others use wheelchairs or aids, so moving and handling may be needed. We support meaningful activity participation and encourage community engagement and social inclusion.
Other responsibilities include:
To assist and support people using the service with personal care and physical tasks e.g. assistance with dressing, washing, bathing and with meals
Talking and helping people using the service to maintain contact with family, friends and community, and recreation
To participate in the normal domestic tasks connected with the daily routine of the service and the personal needs of the people using the service
To enter details of incidents and events occurring during a period of duty in the appropriate records, and to report verbally to the senior member of staff on duty before leaving the premises
To report and record significant matters in the lives of people using the service in accordance with the department’s policy to Access to Records
To maintain and update care plans and risk assessments with people using the service and senior staff on duty
To distribute and administer medication as instructed
