Our client are seeking a skilled and motivated marine engineer to join their offshore operations. We’re looking for someone with a valid M1 certificate and relevant maritime experience—preferably from tugboat operations, though this is not essential, you’ll be part of a solid and professional team with a strong focus on safety, collaboration, and quality.
Typically, this person will work in close collaboration with the Engineering Team to deliver safe, efficient vessels to the operations team. They will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and developing marine engineering systems onboard vessels and facilities, ensuring compliance with safety legislation and company policies.

Duties and responsibilities of the Chief Engineer:
• Maintain, service, and develop vessel machinery and engineering systems in line with operational requirements and safety standards
• Oversee daily engineering operations onboard, ensuring efficient performance and reliability of all machinery
• Collaborate with the deck and technical teams to support safe vessel operations and problem-solving
• Ensure compliance with international maritime safety regulations and company policies
• Participate in scheduled maintenance, inspections, and audits to uphold operational excellence
• Mentor and guide junior engineering staff, fostering a professional and safe working environment
Qualifications:
• Valid M1 Certificate (Marine Engineer Class 1)
• Tugboat experience is advantageous, but not required
• Strong sense of responsibility, teamwork, and operational awareness
• Understanding of Norwegian or another Scandinavian language is desirable

Key Responsibilities
Act as Centre Coordinator for multiple awarding organisations (e.g. EAL, Pearson, City & Guilds, ILM).
