Regional Business Manager - Commercial Roofing
JOB DESCRIPTION GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Regional Business Manager (RBM) is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of their assigned region, which includes, but is not limited to, setting strategic direction, providing customer service and sales support, managing regional personnel, ensuring regional profitability and performance, and contributing to a culture of teamwork and quality. The RBM will serve as the liaison for the region and coordinate communications with all levels of staff within WTI and Tremco Roofing and Building Maintenance. The RBM will maintain and enhance customer relationships, providing face-to-face business support and services. The RBM will also work with field and sales personnel to achieve continuous improvement initiatives and promote synergies between sales and WTI. Assigned regions are subject to change based on business needs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct region's WTI personnel and work cross-functionally with other Tremco and WTI external and internal departments to maximize efforts and results in sales, compliance, safety, and profitability. Serve as a liaison between headquarters and the field to ensure effective two-way communication and achieve positive results. Develop an ongoing strategy to manage and grow existing business within existing markets and with all new strategic markets developed by WTI or Tremco Roofing and Building Maintenance management. Assess daily operational situations to identify potential crisis management, safety, and escalation protocols. Determine solutions to project issues, including but not limited to field resource management, workload balance, job site conditions, and product management issues. Travel to job sites as needed to provide support to regional resources, including rooftop projects. Travel to customer or sales meetings as needed to support business or regional activities. Manage all WTI personnel in the assigned region, with personnel numbers ranging from 10 to over 100, depending on the region's sales volume. Develop regional resources for daily operations, growth, and employee development. Identify resource or employee concerns and resolve them promptly, engaging the appropriate HR or WTI management as needed. Ensure that documentation on employee issues is submitted promptly to the HR department. Act as an agent of change and improvement, and adapt quickly to changing business priorities. Manage regional financial data, including identifying trends, correcting utilization, and addressing issues related to gross margin and/or operating income. Review individual job financials and make necessary adjustments to address poor performance and prevent recurring problems. Forecast, analyze, and report on sales, establishing financial performance metrics. Define criteria for success and provide leadership to achieve regional team goals. Develop workforce planning, recruiting, and retention strategies to optimize the region's performance. Establish, define, and communicate a clear strategic direction and targets for achieving goals within the regional team. Facilitate a culture of teamwork and excellence throughout the region and the organization. Communicate and implement company policies and procedures within the region and support throughout the organization as required. Work directly with the Managed Asset team to facilitate and provide support for designated national accounts. Communicate with regional partners (other RBMs, supervisors, construction managers, etc.) to provide or obtain resource and technical support. Additional duties as assigned by senior leadership. EXPERIENCE: 5-10 years of prior experience in a results-oriented leadership role for a regional, cross-functional team within the building construction industry. Prior experience leading a large staff in remote multi-state locations. Experience in an influential role where extraordinary results were achieved through accountability and leading others to achieve and maintain a high standard of performance. Prior experience clearly defines expectations, articulating ideas, thoughts, and views, and providing continual, timely, frank, and direct feedback to others. Proven experience with setting strategy and establishing plans for business growth. Prior experience working between multiple departments that support regional compliance and profitability. Must have prior hands-on experience with handling business transactions, procedures, and practices, including but not limited to pricing, company vehicles, safety, order entry, estimating, general contracting procedures, designation and duties of employees, warranties, quality assurance practices, service offerings, etc. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Can service customers in a compliant and financially solvent manner. Understanding of contract management and processes. Intermediate skills with financial data and mathematics (understanding statistics, business metrics, gross margin, operating income, cost management, etc.). Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make professional presentations to others. Must have excellent organizational skills to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to create strategic plans and measure and analyze results. Strong problem resolution skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all personality types. Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe. Must be able to use technology to perform company tasks (expense management, time keeping systems, intranet, etc.). Ability to travel 50-75% of the time, depending on the season, to any location required within the US, with possible international travel. In your role as Manager - Playland Attractions Maintenance, your primary accountabilities will be to: Oversee various projects on the Playland site; inclusive of building maintenance, technical oversight of inspections, general maintenance, set-up, and teardown of over 30 rides. Create, document, and implement safe work procedures that adhere to OHS regulation for the safety of staff. Ensure maintenance program for all attraction assets are in compliance with both manufacturer guidelines and Technical Safety BC requirements. Provide strategic direction pertaining to asset management (rides, attractions, buildings, temporary event structures) and maintenance, inclusive of capital project recommendations. Liaise with Technical Safety BC and ride safety consultants regarding ride inspections and installations; implement their directives and submit confirmation of corrective actions. Conduct and document risk/hazard assessments and daily ride inspections to ensure guest safety on site, document and ensure completion of recommended corrective actions. Work within set budgets and maintain established timelines for project completion. What else? 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in providing leadership and managing preventative maintenance programs, mechanical or construction work, project management OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 5 years' experience managing large teams of ticketed staff, with a proven ability to effectively engage personnel in the construction, maintenance, or engineering industries, is required. Completion of a post-secondary degree/diploma/certificate in a relevant discipline (i.e. Project Management, Construction, Heavy Duty Mechanic, Mechanical Engineering, Millwright, Occupational Health & Safety etc.); OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Red Seal Certification is considered an asset. What will you do this year?In your role as an Assistant Manager, Fair Site Clean-up, your primary accountabilities will be to: Develop and implement the department schedule for the Site Clean-up team (including fore people, sweepers and facility attendants) within posted budgets.Responsible for setting and monitoring staff work schedules in consideration of daily park traffic and weather changes.Responsible for assigning and deploying staff to pre-determined site clean areas based on Fair grounds cleaning zones.Assist with Fair group interview sessions and coordinate hiring, training and evaluate work performance of Fair time staff.Coordinate all pre and post-Fair activities, including meetings, training sessions, and Fair setup/ tear down.Develop and implement sign out program for Site Cleaning Equipment: Brooms, Dust Pans, Janitorial Carts, Tilt Trucks, Janitorial Keys, Radios etc.Develop and implement training video program for routine Site Clean activities: Changing Garbage, Sweeping, Mopping, Picking, Diversion Strategies etc.Ensure garbage collection educational packages for vendors are printed and distributed to all external vendors requiring garbage collection and ensure they have the adequate supplies.Ensure all department timesheets are completed and submitted on time.Maintain inventory levels at all stocking locations (Site Clean Compound, Coliseum, Forum, Roller land, Agrodome and Temporary Stock Locations) for all required supplies to ensure proper levels are always available.Maintain cleanliness of Site Clean compound and all equipment used by the team Daily.Assist with the development and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures regarding onsite Guest Services operations.Enforce PNE policies & procedures; coaching, performance managing and disciplining employees as required.Handle complaints from guests as it relates to Site Cleanup, and resolve complaints based on written and established guidelines – track all complaints in our complaint log.Maintain effective working relationships with superiors, other departments, subordinates and the public.Work with and support the “Binners Project” (waste sorting contractor) with any and all needs to keep the operation running smoothly.Working with the “Binners Project” to promote and execute sustainability of the PNE’s Fair; overseeing the contractors in diversion of sorting of waste that comes into site.Working with staff to deploy the PNE’s diversion stations/ totes across the site and document locations on our site map.Perform other related duties as required What else? JOB DESCRIPTION JOB PURPOSE: The Vice President User & Market Insights and Category Management will be responsible for all user research, market insights and category management efforts at Rust-Oleum for a diverse set of brands across multiple product platforms. This individual will be the voice of the user and owns the collection and synthesis of market and end-user intelligence. The person in this key leadership role will be accountable for collaborating with Product Management and other areas of the business to assess and address information needs, and for leading, analyzing, and synthesizing company, consumer, and marketplace learning.
