Every project large or small requires a program be it simple or complex. A project program is used to highlight issues, delays, opportunities, project acceleration and a whole host of other things most of which will be touched on under this course.
As an apprentice you will start with easy tasks, attending meetings and taking notes to learn how construction project programs are built up and what’s included.
As experience and training progresses you will have more responsibly, expected to input more and be able to work on your own initiative.

Calibration Lab:
Performing maintenance, repairs, and testing on various calibration equipment as per customer requirements, as well as for internal engineers for scheduled field-based jobs
Calibration of temperature, level, flow, electrical and pressure equipment
Calibrating equipment in line with UKAS standards, ensuring calibration equipment are safe, compliant, and certified against national and internationally recognised standards under supervision of the Lab and Accreditation Manager
Panel Lab:
Design and code Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to automate processes according to customer specifications
Build and assemble automated systems based on design plans
Perform validation and testing of control panels and associated equipment to ensure functionality and compliance with specifications
Create detailed electrical and mechanical schematic drawings using CAD software
Field Based:
Shadow and as appropriate assist field-based engineers with calibration service jobs at customer sites to ensure systems operate correctly
Provide on-site support for equipment breakdowns. Diagnose issues, advise on solutions, and either perform immediate repairs or schedule follow-up service. If necessary, send parts to the lab for further analysis or repair under the supervision of the field-based engineer
Install and commission control panels and systems at customer sites. Ensure the installed systems operate as specified and meet customer requirements

This apprenticeship will allow the successful applicant to join the CAD team in our new office in Southwark, working alongside experienced CAD professionals to create highly detailed 2D technical design drawings and schematics of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) services at an industry-leading level of detail. Teaching will be a mix of on the job and off the job training delivered face to face in university and online weekly sessions. The programme is delivered using a blended learning model
The programme is delivered at University of Staffordshire. Apprentices will attend an induction at the beginning of the apprenticeship before the launch of the first modules. There is a four-day module launch for each learning block in October, February and May. The module launch is designed to provide apprentices with an overview of the module and its assessment. There will be a number of presentations, activities and the opportunity to get to know your tutors and other apprentices as well as a tour of the library and other university facilities
