The broad purpose of the occupation is to conduct the general day-to-day maintenance required to keep a range of properties in a good state of repair.
Property maintenance operatives conduct routine maintenance tasks, and minor planned and responsive repair works, using a broad range of fundamental trade skills including carpentry, joinery, plumbing, plastering, brick and block work, external works and associated finishing trades including tiling, painting, and decorating.
Operatives use a wide variety of hand and power tools, materials, components, fixtures, and fittings, ensuring work that is carried out is compliant with health and safety requirements, and meets building safety regulations and legislation.
As an apprentice you will learn how to undertake the following day to day tasks:
Identify and select the appropriate materials and components for property maintenance tasks
Comply with statutory health and safety regulations and requirements
Comply with risk assessments, and organise the workplace, to safeguard themselves and the property
Use safe working practices when carrying out property maintenance tasks including the use of PPE, signage, barriers, access equipment and ensuring work area is prepared and reinstated
Safely isolate and secure electrical or electronic supplies prior to performing property maintenance operations
Perform maintenance and repairs to plumbing systems, including fault identification, safe isolation of supply, replacing components and clearing blockages
Perform maintenance and repairs to external drainage systems, including clearing blockages and replacing components
Perform maintenance and repairs to environmental and energy management systems, including fault identification, safe isolation of supply, replacing components
Use carpentry and joinery skills to perform repairs to windows, doors and glazing units, and their associated fittings
Perform repairs to plastered surfaces, including surface preparation, fixing and mixing materials and compounds
Use painting and decorating skills to prepare surfaces for decoration, apply paint using brushes and rollers, and complete sealing activities using gun appliances
Perform tiling repairs, including setting out, surface preparation and cutting around obstacles
Perform flooring repairs, including setting out, surface preparation and cutting around obstacles
Perform planned, responsive, or temporary repairs to buildings or their immediate surroundings, attending to minor defects within either masonry, roofing, fencing or railing, groundwork or landscaping
Training:
The successful candidate will work towards a Level 2 Property Maintenance Qualification, which will take 24 months (including End Point Assessment) and will be delivered by Sheffield College on a day release basis

Where you will be mentored and trained by highly skilled and qualified Electricians.Training Outcome:For the right candidate, there is potentially a full-time role to continue with your profession as an electrican on completion of the apprenticeship.Employer Description:Europa Caravans Ltd was formed in February 2009 by Donald and Graham Oades in the depths of a recession, they both left steady jobs to start their new business, when doing this they were faced by the same questions from suppliers “is this the best time to start a caravan company”, under the same breath suppliers said if you can start in such difficult times then when it comes back you will thrive, the two new directors already had strong leads and were confident they had a good business. All the suppliers gave Europa a lot of support as Graham and Don were both very well known to them.
Don and Graham have both worked in caravan companies for years, Graham has been building caravans since 1984 and Don starting his career in caravan manufacture in the 90’s, both built their way up to high managerial positions giving both of them a vast range of experience in the industry. All their employees were carefully selected giving them such a strong team which gave them a quality product from the start. Within five weeks the factory was set up, drawings done and the first caravan completed, from that day on they were already building a steady 4-5 caravans per week to a very high standard, when starting their new company Don and Graham had the chance to design out all the problems they had encountered in their years of building caravans, giving them a better quality product with less problems.
By the October of their first year they had already outgrown the various units they had taken on a small industrial estate and looked to move under one roof with more space, by January 2010 production moved in to a 45,000sqft factory giving them more space for the off line and extending the production line giving a much better flow, production increased 3 fold to meet the demand. Their customer base has grown steadily over the last five years from both Export and the UK and continues to do so, they exhibited caravans at the Cottingham Parks (Hull) in September and the Westpoint show (Exeter) in the October, at both shows existing customers showed their support and new customers are also gained.Working Hours :Monday - Thursday, 7.30am - 4.30pm.

General duties include: 
Contribute to maintaining a healthy and safe workplace, including the maintenance of key equipment and carrying out general housekeeping

Carry out replacement/repair and balancing of a range of light vehicle tyres, including ultra-low profile, directional, asymmetric and run-flat tyres fitted to a range of wheel sizes and types
Carry out the replacement of components on a specific range of vehicle systems, including Steering & Suspension, Braking systems, Battery & Charging systems, exhaust systems and Air-Conditioning systems
Carry out 4-wheel Geometry operations, including adjustments on a range of vehicles with different suspension and steering systems
Use a range of specialist tools & equipment, mechanical & electrical measuring tools and diagnostic equipment to support fault identification and repair
Identify & procure correct parts to meet specific customer requirements
Access vehicle technical data to inform inspections and make judgments on wear and serviceability
Deal with and resolve low-level customer complaints
Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and colleagues
Use specific company IT systems within the workplace, including Point-of-sale systems and hand-held devices

Are you the ideal candidate?
Degree‑level qualification in Power Systems, Electrical Engineering or similar.
Fluency in German with advanced English (written and verbal).
Proven track record delivering grid connections on the developer or TSO/DSO side, from application through to RtB and/or COD.
Confident negotiating with network operators; strong knowledge of German grid codes and technical specifics.
Skilled in assessing substations, proposing connection solutions and producing single‑line diagrams.
Experience managing grid studies and third‑party consultants to scope, schedule and budget.
Highly organised, self‑motivated and assured communicator — comfortable working remotely across time zones.
Network of planning consultants and grid operators in Germany; full driving licence; right to live and work in Germany; willing to travel nationally and occasionally to the UK.

variety of mobile plant equipment (e.g. Forklift Truck, MEWPS & Site Vehicles);
