GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Building Sciences team will participate in different projects with various scopes of work. The Field Engineer is responsible for the organization, research, and documentation of cross-departmental assignments supporting the continued growth and operations of Pure Air Control Services, a Weatherproofing Technologies, Inc. division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports the Building Sciences Project Manager with test and balance research, consultation, operations policy generation, and quality issues. Adjust systems controls to settings recommended by the vendor, conduct measurement tests, and discuss system malfunctions with system users to isolate the problems. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports. Coordinate with multi-disciplined teams, including sales personnel and field team, to develop a scope of work and estimate the cost of a project. Organize material and complete reports according to pre-defined standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology. Evaluate current processes and develop innovative approaches for improvement. Write and develop in-house training materials supporting the staff and franchise partners. Contacts and communicates directly with all levels of company management, staff members, and clients.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Industry certificates are preferred but not required. Ability to obtain Engineer Intern certification preferred but not required. Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering field (preferred) 3+ years of experience in the HVAC industry, including Test and Balance or Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Working knowledge of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning systems. Familiarity with current building, energy, and mechanical codes and standards. Understanding of Indoor Air Quality and how it affects the building occupants. Understanding of HVAC design principles, including heating load, air change, and ventilation requirements, and applying different HVAC systems (Constant volume, VAV, 100% OA, ERV units, etc.). Understanding of HVAC engineering fundamentals, including load calculations, conceptual systems analysis through construction documentation design, equipment design and layout, and duct and pipe sizing. Customer service oriented. Proficient computer skills and strong technical writing skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Well organized and possess superior time management abilities to support several projects simultaneously. Self-motivated and self-directed while remaining a team player. Ability to travel out of state up to 15% of the time. The salary range for applicants in this position generally ranges between $58,000 and $75,000. Effectively represent our Tremco safety culture with our subcontractors and help Tremco site leadership to ensure complete compliance of our subcontractors to applicable rules and regulations (Federal, State, local, owner, Tremco and their own). Motivating, organizing, and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure safety practices and policies are being adhered to effectively. As a direct report to, regularly communicate safety audit results and/or field safety concerns (e.g., Stop Work Authority) with Assistant Safety Director and prepare observation reports as needed. Regularly audit the Site-Specific Safety and Health Plans for compliance and update to ensure the alignment with project scope and conditions. Ensure that all incidents are reported immediately per the Tremco Incident Notification Policy. Participate and assist all field leadership in the investigation of incidents to determine root cause, and corrective actions where necessary. Ensure incident corrective actions are followed up on and completed. Monitor and follow up on modified workers in the field. Must adhere to all company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (Occupational Health & Safety preferred) or 5+ Years of Construction experience with high school diploma. Minimum of two years of construction safety field experience required. OSHA 10- and 30-hour certification required. Knowledge of the 1926 OSHA Regulations. Working Knowledge on how to develop, implement, and audit a Daily Task Analysis for Employees and Subcontractors. Proficient written and oral communication skills. Proficient Computer Skills- Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Willingness to travel/work remotely 80% or greater. A new Spin-Out company, based in Cambridge, providing product development for Security Cleared sectors, is currently looking for an experienced Firmware Engineer or DSP Engineer to work on a wide range of new technologies.
You will be working on a range of new technology inventions, providing expert approaches to Firmware Engineering and DSP Engineering applications. Due to the varied nature of the work, we ideally seek someone with knowledge of FPGA, DSP design and engineering, DSP Modelling, and design using embedded systems. Not all of these areas are required, but having experience in as many as possible in your past roles as a Firmware Engineer or DSP Engineer would be advantageous.
Specific experience working on high-speed electronic systems would be ideal but is not essential.
If you have previously worked in a security-cleared environment, it would be fantastic, although not essential as they are open to candidates from different sectors. However, you must be able to obtain security clearance. This usually means being a British Citizen or residing in the UK for five years in continuous employment. If you already hold security clearance from another source, this would be acceptable.

A growing spinout security technology company, based in Cambridge, is currently seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to assist with the development, modification, and enhancement of various security technologies.
Your focus will span across radio, satellite, communications, radar, sensors, and other complex technologies used in the defence, aerospace, telecommunications, and other cutting-edge sectors, where you will contribute to the development of new technologies.
You will collaborate with a team of experts, including electronics design engineers, software engineers, mechanical engineers, physicists, and other specialists. You won't necessarily need prior experience in the specific sector, as this is trainable, but you should have substantial experience in developing embedded systems using C/C++ programming languages.

Medical Devices – Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Cambridge
Due to successful growth plans, a Medical Devices organization based in Cambridge is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the development and improvement of life-saving Medical Devices.
Collaborating closely with other industry experts, such as electronics design engineers, software engineers, physicists, and other Medical Devices specialists, you will tackle some of the most complex challenges in the development of new Medical Technologies.
Ideally, you will have a background in developing new Medical Devices throughout the entire design life cycle, adhering to ISO 13485 standards. If you have not worked on Medical Devices, we will consider candidates from other highly regulated industries such as life sciences, robotics, product development, etc.
For the 3D CAD elements of your role, you will primarily use SolidWorks. Familiarity with this tool would be advantageous, but we are open to considering other 3D CAD tools if you have a proven track record of quickly acquiring new skills.
When discussing complex problems, it would be beneficial if the Medical Devices you have worked on have involved fluidics, mechanism design, thermal issues, FEA, or other intricate applications. We do not expect you to have experience in all of these areas; they are just a few examples of the challenges you may encounter.
