We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Machine Shop Manager to lead day-to-day operations within our busy and fast-paced workshop. This role is ideal for someone with a hands-on background in machining who now thrives in a leadership and planning capacity. Youll be responsible for workflow management, team performance, customer liaison, and the overall efficiency and output of the machine shop. While the position is predominantly desk-based, deep technical knowledge and practical experience in machining processes are essential.

Key Responsibilities: Machine Shop Manager
- Lead and supervise the machine shop team, ensuring work is delivered on time, to spec, and to a high standard.
- Plan and schedule workload in line with customer requirements and operational resources.
- Monitor workshop performance and compliance with quality, safety, and operational procedures.
- Provide day-to-day technical support and training to machinists and engineering staff.
- Liaise with customers to understand technical requirements, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction.
- Review and sign off job estimates and quotations, working closely with admin and sales teams.
- Conduct regular staff reviews, manage attendance, and maintain team discipline and morale.
- Oversee job records, inspection documentation, and production data to ensure full traceability.
- Manage stock levels in coordination with stores to ensure timely availability of materials and parts.
- Champion a clean, safe, and compliant workshop environment, enforcing PPE and safety policies.
- Maintain and manage all machinery, tools, and workshop equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Monitor workshop budgets, controlling spend on labour, spares, and materials.
- Generate accurate and timely operational reports for senior management.
- Be available for occasional overtime or out-of-hours support as required.
Skills & Experience Required: Machine Shop Manager
- Proven background in machining or mechanical engineeringideally within aerospace, automotive, or industrial sectors.
- Significant experience in a workshop supervisory or management role.
- Deep knowledge of machining techniques, materials, and tools.
- Exposure to welding and balancing processes would be an advantage.
- Strong mechanical and electrical understanding preferred.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong leadership and team development skills, with the ability to motivate and support others.
- Confident communicator, capable of liaising with internal departments and external customers.
- High level of computer literacy, especially in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Comfortable with quoting and job costing processes.

Responsibilities
Consult with leaseholders (statutory and non-statutory consultation) and assist with applications for dispensation.
Issue Section 20 Notices and keep robust records of each contract.
Deal with leaseholder enquiries via email, telephone, and face to face.
Issue bills using Word templates and Excel mail merge.
Build good working relationships with the local Tenant and Residents’ Associations and attend out of hours meetings when required.
Respond to correspondence and complaints and provide drafts for member’s enquiries.
Identify and record details of vulnerable residents, signpost residents for support as required.
Ensure safeguarding concerns are acted on immediately and in compliance with the safeguarding procedure.

Role Overview:
The Quality Engineer is responsible to the HSQE Manager for the effective testing and measuring of products, and recording the results of the inspection activities.
The Quality Engineer will assist in the maintenance of the Integrated Management System, and Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as procedures, work instructions, quality alerts and forms.
The Quality Engineer will be highly competent in the mechanical and electrical testing of electromechanical rotating devices with expertise in various precision measuring tools and electrical testing through insulation, electrical noise and voltage drop and also visual detection of surface defects such as nicks, burrs, pits, and scratches.
The role is based in High Wycombe. Off-site visits are not expected but may be required to support activities at customer and supplier sites as required by the business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain excel spreadsheets for supplier rejection, corrective action reporting and customer returns data.
Support the receipt, recording, investigation and analysis of customer returned products (e.g., RMA’s & 8D’s).
Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as procedures, work instructions, quality alerts and forms.
Investigate instances of product and process failure, conduct effective root cause analysis-implement robust corrective actions with proven problem-solving techniques such as 8D and 5Y.
Conduct internal quality management system audits and product and process audits.
Participation in QA project as direct.
Assist with resolving certification issues with suppliers, stockist, test house, mill in a timely manner.
Excellent understanding of metrology and testing practices for both mechanical and electrical inspection and testing, with particular application for slip rings desirable.

Perform mechanical and electrical inspection and testing of, incoming components, finished products and sub-assemblies throughout the manufacturing process as required.

Support the investigation of concerns, both external and internal, including quarantined parts and customer rejects, ensuring that root cause is adequately identified for counter measure implementation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct the daily onsite safety brief prior to the start of the WTI project with the Sales Rep, customer and the WTI Crew. Inspect and ensure all surroundings, equipment and tools and identify and discuss any safety concerns. Complete the Daily Hazard Analysis form and submit to the Supervisors as applicable Ensure all project communication is completed prior to the start of any WTI project. This includes but is not limited to communication with: Sales Rep on weekly/daily schedule WTI crew members to discuss scope of work and daily tasks The customer pre-arrival, at arrival and at completion of the day's work WTI Supervisor on schedule changes, project, and crew updates, etc. Efficient project management will include managing crew start and end times and production rates, ensuring tools and materials are available to complete the assigned project safely and efficiently, and completing the project per the scope or work or specification. The WTI Foreman will complete an end of day and/or end of project walk through to ensure quality repairs and address any items prior to leaving the job site. Before and after pictures will be sent to the Sales Rep and information will be sent daily on project status. These items will include, detailed work performed updates, materials consumed, and supplies purchases are all recording daily. Ensure that all WTI Field Reps will have a professional appearance and customer interaction while completing services for a customer. The Field Resource Foreman is responsible for the ordering, tracking, and monitoring inventory and ensure Quarterly cycle counts are completed and submitted timely. Per pricing procedures review each field service project over $5,000 for pricing accuracy. Submit all projects over $20,000 to the WTI Supervisor prior to submitting to the Sales Rep or customer. Manage, monitor, and document performance of Field Resource Reps and take appropriate steps or corrective measures to resolve employee and work-related issues. Consult with WTI Field Resource Supervisor and Human Resources as needed. Perform any other duty and/or project as required or assigned by the WTI Supervisor and/or Regional Manager.
Skills & Qualifications
Minimum five years' experience in the commercial roofing industry. Must be thoroughly familiar with built-up, EPDM, PVC, and other forms of low-slope roofing systems as well as metal and other steep slope roofing systems and how to properly repair them.
The hourly rate for applicants in this position generally ranges between $25.16 and $31.45. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operations, needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
