This is no ordinary apprenticeship. As part of our technical support teams, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers who help maintain and upgrade Royal Navy ships and submarines. Your role will focus on analysing, reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and materials, while learning how projects are planned and delivered across the dockyard.
The work is primarily office-based but includes regular visits to ships, submarines and workshops, giving you a close-up view of how complex engineering programmes come to life. With a mixture of both classroom and on-the-job training, you will be involved in delivering opportunities, solutions and benefits to the GKN operations site based on data driven analysis and the ability to understand complex situations. Act as the first point of contact for technical queries across the business globally, ensuring quick and professional resolution of issues
Manage and update the ticketing system, prioritising requests and escalating complex problems to senior engineers when necessary
Support with user account provisioning and de-provisioning, ensuring correct access levels and applying ‘least privilege’ principles
Assist with the maintenance and monitoring of network, server, and cloud infrastructure, learning how modern IT environments operate

As a Warehouse Assistant, you will be supporting day-to-day warehouse operations across two local sites. This role offers a salary of up to £26,000 and benefits.
You will be responsible for:
* Handling goods in and out using a counterbalance forklift
* Logging incoming materials through a computer-based system
* Selecting items accurately in line with order requirements
* Driving company vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes
* Supporting routine stock checks and investigations
