On a day-to-day basis as an apprentice, you will be doing the following:
Assisting experienced Fitters with the installation of various types of windows and doors (e.g., uPVC, aluminium, timber).
Learning how to remove old & install new windows & doors in full.
Learning and applying techniques for measuring, preparing openings, and fitting frames.
Assisting with the safe handling and transportation of materials and tools.
Developing skills in sealing, finishing, and tidying up work areas to a high standard.
Learning about different window and door components and their functions.
Understanding and adhering to health and safety regulations on site.
Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order.
Communicating effectively with team members and customers (under supervision).
Participating in training sessions and working towards relevant qualifications.
Performing other general site duties as required.
Complete all company documentation in line with company procedures.
Promote the company in a positive manner at all times with a friendly, positive, customer focused attitude.
Whenever possible, take photos of installations at various stages, or as requested to help with marketing and social media presence.
Training:
All aspects of your training will be delivered on-site with your employer.
As an apprentice you will receive from your employer 6 hours each week for your off the job training, this included as part of your working weekly hours. Off the job training is there to help with your learning and development of the knowledge, skills and behaviors as part of your apprenticeship standard. Majority of these 6 hours will be spent on site with your mentor learning, along with having time set aside away from your normal day to day working environment for you to complete study time which will help you with the completion of targets set by your assessor (e.g. workbooks, online learning, research, self-study). You will also have regular site visits every ten to twelve weeks from your designated assessor, who will monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship program.
Training Outcome:
Potential for the candidate to progress through the company and gain experience within all sectors. The main aim is to bring somebody into the team and for them to develop and become a key team member.

As a Process Technician, you will:
Perform all duties in compliance with all Venator Corporate and Venator Pigments EHS, business conduct policies, guidelines and the local site Life Saving Rules at all times. Complete all Corporate Compliance training.
Monitor and control the operation of process plants to ensure that process parameters are maintained within accepted limits.
Analyse minor processing and equipment problems in order effect solutions.
Control the offloading of raw materials from external suppliers into the plant, and the loading of intermediate product from the plant into Road Tankers prior to transport.
Take samples of process intermediates and carry out on plant testing as required by quality control systems.
Advise and brief Senior Technicians on emerging plant situations and manage process upsets in a safe, timely and effective manner.
Ensure completion of scheduled surveys and reports including standard work activities, check sheets etc.
Prepare the plant for Intrusive Maintenance via completion of the appropriate isolation and preparation procedures in line with our Safe Systems of Work.
Contribute to the development of procedures/ work instructions and continuous improvement activities.
