As a Process Technician, you will:
Perform all duties in compliance with all Venator Corporate and Venator Pigments EHS, business conduct policies, guidelines and the local site Life Saving Rules at all times. Complete all Corporate Compliance training.
Monitor and control the operation of process plants to ensure that process parameters are maintained within accepted limits.
Analyse minor processing and equipment problems in order effect solutions.
Control the offloading of raw materials from external suppliers into the plant, and the loading of intermediate product from the plant into Road Tankers prior to transport.
Take samples of process intermediates and carry out on plant testing as required by quality control systems.
Advise and brief Senior Technicians on emerging plant situations and manage process upsets in a safe, timely and effective manner.
Ensure completion of scheduled surveys and reports including standard work activities, check sheets etc.
Prepare the plant for Intrusive Maintenance via completion of the appropriate isolation and preparation procedures in line with our Safe Systems of Work.
Contribute to the development of procedures/ work instructions and continuous improvement activities.
The Apprentices will follow the employer-led Process Industry Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship Standard, which will combine practical, technical and behavioural training with theoretical knowledge of relevant science and technology.

Take a customer’s drawing and create a forging profile capable of being machined to the finished dimensions
Be able to understand manufacturing procedures and apply them to methods of production while adhering to the customer’s specifications

In your daily work, you will interact with venue personnel, such as chefs, catering managers, facilities managers, managers/owners and kitchen staff. Personnel from equipment manufacturers technical support services, and equipment and spares suppliers’ sales and technical staff. You may also liaise with Environmental Health Officers and other trades personnel, such as builders, electricians etc. Internally, you will interact with company management, office staff and other technicians.
Installations involve unpacking and in some cases assembling equipment, connecting in accordance with the equipment manufacturer’s instructions to suitable services (gas, electricity, water and drainage) and commissioning.
Where an installation involves the removal of equipment, engineers disconnect the redundant item, remove it to a safe area for disposal and make safe any services no longer required.
On maintenance visits, engineers visually inspect the equipment, check the services for any problems, carry out maintenance tasks as specified by the manufacturer, and test the equipment is functioning as designed.
On repair visits, engineers establish the problem from the customer, check the faulty item to confirm the problem, diagnose the fault, adjust or repair or replace faulty components, and test the equipment after repair to ensure that it is working correctly.
Engineers are qualified and registered with F-gas for the types of appliances they are working on and retain their competency.
Once qualified you will be responsible for planning your schedule and logistics to meet customers’ requirements and location. Reporting to the correct person in the customer’s premises and agreeing the purpose of their visit and managing customer expectations. At all times, presenting a professional image of the company. Engineers largely work on their own and unsupervised – self-managing, however occasionally on maintenance visits to larger kitchens, you may work alongside other Engineers or a Supervisor. You must ensure the quality and accuracy of work carried out, ensuring the health, safety and welfare of self and others - working in line with legislation. You will have the authority to determine action, including the disconnection or isolation of equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring that your tools and equipment are fit for purpose and that your work vehicle is roadworthy. DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES
Software
Install operating systems on workstations, update and restore as necessary
Software installation, including building and testing Microsoft installer packages for new software, then remotely installing as requested by staff
Troubleshoot software issues
To investigate software faults, escalate to vendors/supervisor if required and to actively monitor them until their successful resolution
To keep records of Software and Licences and update as necessary
Assist with the installation and administration of online ICT tests
User Admin and support
To create and delete users as required, assign permissions and troubleshoot user profile, space and settings issues, assist with start and end of year procedures, including bulk creation and archiving of users
To support staff, when requested, in their use of ICT software and hardware
To apply for the blocking/unblocking of websites as requested by staff
To remove/reinstate students’ internet access as requested by staff and keep records
Restore work of staff and students as requested by staff, where possible
Hardware maintenance and admin
To assist in setting up and security marking new equipment
Perform diagnosis procedures on PCs and peripherals, including printers
To conduct hardware maintenance, including necessary upgrades and simple repairs
To log hardware faults with external agencies and to actively monitor them until their successful resolution
Move and set up ICT equipment where appropriate
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving network infrastructure issues, in-house or with outside agencies when necessary
To do a daily check on the network infrastructure and IT system
To carry out and check backups of the network as required
To monitor server performance and take action as necessary
Ensure and maintain the successful deployment of anti-virus software throughout the school

Prototype & Production Support:
Assist in the assembly and testing of new electronic thermal control products.
Support the development of prototypes under the supervision of engineers, contributing to the design and build of new product prototypes.
Assist with the assembly of thermoelectric devices and other components used in thermal management systems.
Work with engineers to help identify and resolve assembly issues during prototype builds.
Electronic and Mechanical Assembly:
