Provide detailed and regular feedback to Teachers on pupils’ achievement, progress, problems, etc.
Promote good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with school policy and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their behaviour
Establish constructive relationships with Parents / Carers
Administer routine tests, invigilate exams and undertake routine marking of pupils’ work
Provide clerical/administrative support, e.g., photocopying, typing, filing, collection of money, administering of coursework, etc.
Undertake structured and agreed learning activities/teaching & intervention programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil responsesUndertake programmes linked to local and national learning strategies, e.g. Literacy, Numeracy, KS1, Early Years, recording achievements and progress and feeding back to the Teacher
Support the use of ICT in learning activities and develop pupils’ competence and independence in its use
Prepare, maintain, and use the equipment and resources required to meet lesson plans and relevant learning activities, and assist pupils in their use
Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to Child Protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person in accordance with policy
Be aware of and support differences and ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop
Contribute to the overall ethos/aims of the school
Support the role of other professionals
Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required
Participate in training and other learning activities, as well as performance development, as required
Assist with the supervision of pupils out of lesson times, including before and after school and at lunchtimes
Accompany teaching staff and pupils on visits, trips and out-of-school activities as required and take responsibility for a group under the supervision of the Teacher
Training:At the end of the apprenticeship, you will achieve the following:
Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard
The apprenticeship will be delivered through team meetings every 4-6 weeks and workplace observations, in addition to your job role
There is no day release required for this training
