The Whole School Assistant will be responsible for the following areas:
Classroom support for teachers
Preparing and maintaining teaching materials, resources and equipment.
Storing and retrieving this equipment as required.
Counting pupil work and assisting with displays.
Undertaking routine clerical duties eg completion of records and reproduction of letters, photocopying and producing class lists.
Setting up and maintaining equipment and software.
Pupil Support
Supervising and assisting with cloakroom duties.
Assisting pupils with personal care and hygiene, including toileting.
Accompanying unwell pupils to their homes or to the hospital.
Attending to unwell and injured pupils as necessary.
Receiving and caring for pupils arriving before school and caring for pupils left under the supervision and guidance of a teacher
Assisting with the supervision of individuals or groups of pupils under the supervision and guidance of a teacher during lessons, break periods, in the dining room and on school outings.
School support
Ordering, receiving, cataloguing, issuing, and maintaining equipment and materials.
Assist with the collection and balance of school monies as appropriate.
Investigating pupil absence.
Data input of pupil records into computerised systems.
Collating pupil reports.
Producing analyses of attendance figures.
Producing analyses of test results.
Administration related to work experience.
Administration of statutory tests or school assessments.
Administration support for the cover of absent teachers.
Taking notes of meetings as required.
Contribute to the protection of children from abuse (in accordance with the Sheffield LEA Child Protection Procedure).
Contribute to the health and safety of pupils and other staff in accordance with health and safety regulations and school policy.
Any other duties that are appropriate to the role.
Training:At least 20% of your working hours per week (equivalent to 1 full day) will be spent training or studying.Training Outcome:The succesful applicant will be well positioned to become a qualified level 3 Teaching Assistant with exposure of supporting within all ages at Primary School Level.

Support with overseeing licences for online platforms ensuring that these are renewed where necessary.
Compliance and Tracking: Track tutor training, certifications, and compliance with safeguarding and other professional standards, ensuring all records are kept up to date. Maintain a central record of all members of the team. Maintain a record of all tutor training and ensure that required courses and certification are completed on time. Bitpaper Management: Setup and Support: Responsible for setting up Bitpaper sessions for tutors upon request, ensuring that the correct templates and materials are uploaded and available for each lesson. Session Saves and Documentation: Complete and manage the saving of Bitpaper postlesson, ensuring all work and annotations are accurately saved and stored for future reference. Troubleshooting: Provide troubleshooting support to tutors and students in using the Bitpaper platform, ensuring smooth operation and timely resolution of any technical issues.
IT Coordinator Responsibilities: Act as the primary liaison with the external IT support team, ensuring smooth coordination and addressing any technical issues. Manage user accounts, passwords, and permissions for staff within the system, ensuring secure and appropriate access. Oversee and manage SharePoint, including the organisation of all user channels and document libraries, to ensure efficient collaboration and resource management. Provide IT troubleshooting support to staff and act as the first point of contact for resolving technical difficulties within the online provision. Induction of New Staff: Prepare and send the Welcome Pack one week before the start date, including handbooks, Zoom/Bitpaper links, and policies. * To read and understand individual Educational, Health and Care Plans, Positive Behaviour Support Plans and Pupil Risk Assessments.
* To assist the teacher in implementing and evaluating pupil Education and Health Care Plans.
* To assist in the recording of pupil progress and attainment
* To establish productive working relationships with pupils, and promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom; supporting pupils consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs
* To implement agreed learning activities, adjusting activities according to pupils’ responses/needs
* Work in partnership with the teaching staff to ensure that appropriate differentiated learning activities are planned, delivered and monitored regularly, in order that children are working towards their expected outcomesTraining:Training will take place within the school, the majority of the training will be online.
Working towards a Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship standard, including Functional Skills in English and maths if required.
You will be assigned a course tutor and mentor at the school.
As a miminum you will meet with the training provider once a month and will be off the job training time to build your portfolio of work.Training Outcome:There will be no guarantee of paid employment but if opportunities arise the apprentice can apply for teaching assistant roles within the school and externally.
