Undertake duties which will focus on tackling elicit and illegal tobacco and vapes

With the support of other officers, receive and assess complaints from the public, and others including enforcement partners about trading standards and other matters and in accordance with office procedures to determine whether the matters require further investigation.
Complete an intelligence assessment on the Intelligence Data Base based on the information obtained.
Research and evaluate information received and make further enquiries to identify gaps and patterns. This will involve contacting officers within the team, the wider council and external agencies such as the police and/or members of the public.
Produce verbal, written briefings and reports for managers using the CIVICA APP database for the Head of Public Protection, line managers and the wider trading standards team on their findings. These help address the problems identified.
Training Outcome:There may be opportunity to apply for a role within the Council, but this is not guaranteed.
