GC Manager (General Contracting)
JOB DESCRIPTION GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The General Contracting (GC) Manager oversees and manages all aspects of the General Contracting business (including GC and larger-scale P&R, TremCares, etc.) within the assigned region. This will involve working with Construction Managers, CM Associates, Project Managers, Service Managers, Supervisors, Foremen, GC Superintendents, Tremco Sales Representatives, Owners, and Subcontractors to ensure projects are performed safely, meet customers' expectations, conform to contractual obligations, and meet financial objectives. Additional duties will include participating in proposals, specifications, price estimates, schedules, and sales efforts as they affect the region, also responsible for Sales & Service Support, Field Resource & Customer Management communication as necessary. The GC Manager will create and execute training plans for new CM, CM Associate, and Project Manager positions for new employees. With the RBM, the GC Manager is responsible for the overall profitability and performance of all GC projects in the region(s). Abide by all Company policies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct WTI personnel and work cross-functionally with other Tremco and WTI external and internal departments to maximize efforts and results in sales, compliance, safety, and profitability. Act as a liaison between headquarters and the field to ensure that effective two-way communication takes place, and that positive results are achieved. Assess daily operational situations for crisis management, safety, and escalation protocol. Determine solutions to project issues, including but not limited to, field resource management, workload balance, job site conditions, product management issues, etc. Travel to job sites as needed to support account resources (including rooftop projects). Travel to customer or sales meetings to support business or account activities. Accountable for regional cost/budget variance & profitability as it relates to General Contracting. Accountable for regional Quality Assurance. Understanding of the subcontractor agreement and corrective notification measures to the subcontractor according to the executed agreement. Ensure Construction Managers are setting project timelines and goals. Identify resource or employee concerns and promptly resolve and engage appropriate HR or WTI management. Ensure documentation of employee issues is prompt and submitted to HR. Act as an agent of change and improvement , and adapt quickly to changing business priorities. Manage key metrics and report on a regular basis or as required. Coordinate work with Program Managers, Sales & Service Support, Customer Management (WTI & Tremco Roofing), and Resource Management. Participate in the Preventive and Corrective Action process with responsibility and authority to: Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformity relating to service, process, and quality. Identify and record any service, process, or quality system problems. Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels. Verify the implementation of solutions. Control further processing, delivery, or installation of non-conforming products until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected. GC Manager will have Cost Model approval authority for projects whose Gross Margin for Service exceeds the stated requirements. Further approvals may be needed. Ensure the region's profitability by effectively managing the team and processes with the available tools. Assist when needed to review proposals received, conduct contractor interviews for specification and contractual compliance. Approve Proposals for submission (i.e., pricing, specification, scope). Direct Project Manager, technicians, and superintendents. Assist when needed with change order negotiation and approval. Regular communication with the Regional Business Manager regarding: Safety compliance Project approvals, planning, and results. Personnel and process management Any issues related to the above that will require collaboration or elevation of authority. Litigation RTA Legal Executive
My client is one of the most recognised and successful law firms in the UK, with over 30 years experience and has seven offices across the UK. They are now looking to expand further into their Leeds office and are looking for legal advisors to manage a caseload of Fast Track RTA cases through all stages of the investigation and litigation process. To deliver robust quality claims handling, with a key focus on client outcomes, to generate fee income and to contribute to the general success of the business. Key Duties and Responsibilities - Responsible for a high volume caseload of Fast Track Personal Injury RTA claims, making use of the firms Case Management Systems and using the agreed internal procedures and practices. - To progress your caseload in a manner to ensure that clients receive appropriate, professional, timely and pertinent legal advice, with regular contact, whilst managing their expectations. - To deal with cases with denial of liability and causation arguments with minimal supervision. - To be able to assess liability and quantum to include reviewing medical reports, researching and obtaining relevant case law, drafting schedules of special damages and assessing suitable awards for compensation. - To identify early those cases where proceedings would be tactically beneficial to litigate and to do so expeditiously. - Take a practical but commercial approach to settlements and advising clients as to litigation/cost risks. - To achieve and exceed various targets set in relation to, for example, profit costs and issuing, without compromising the firms integrity. - To liaise appropriately and timely with sources, medical agencies, experts, third party insurers and other relevant parties to ensure that cases are pro-actively progressed. - To attend, where appropriate, court hearings to make representations in respect of the claim before the judiciary. Engineering Operative Apprentice
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff. What you’ll do at work Main Role Duties / Scope: Carry out preventative maintenance to ensure machines are in safe working condition for production. Contribute to preventative maintenance development and maintenance schedules. Respond to breakdowns in a timely manner and identify route cause(s) of the breakdown and implement the corrective solution where possible. If this is not possible, the matter needs to be escalated as a priority. All machines must be left in a safe condition and if the maintenance work is not completed, the machine and immediate area must be cordoned off accordingly and left in a safe manner. Safe systems of work must be always used to prevent injury and damage to plant, machinery and equipment. Responsible for maintaining the shift log and to pass unfinished work over the next shift following the correct shift handover process.
