Reduce variability and improve repeatability in manufacturing by implementing standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Remove inefficiencies from production processes through lean manufacturing methods and continuous improvement initiatives.
Implement and monitor production performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Technical & Cross-Functional Support
Investigate production and process-related issues, offering hands-on technical solutions.
Liaise with other departments, suppliers, and customers to provide technical input and resolve issues.
Work with operations and engineering teams to ensure timely responses to TQNs (Technical Query Notes) in line with project deadlines.

Qualifications and Requirements for the Production & Process Engineer
Minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline (Degree desirable).

Proven track record of creating accurate 3D models and engineering drawings for components and assemblies.
Practical engineering knowledge of a range of automotive systems.

Reporting to an Engineer Lead, the engineering apprentice will have the opportunity to develop both a practical and academic understanding of engineering. Job role:
· To develop, optimise and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality and safety.
· Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs, minimise waste and increase efficiency.
· Work with other teams in the business, such as engineering, manufacturing, health and safety, stock control and marketing to ensure smooth integration of new processes, products, technologies and equipment.
· To create and maintain any documentation that supports manufacturing processes.
Role responsibilities:
· Conduct analyses of current process cycle times and output. Use this study to highlight areas of potential improvement.
· Look into manufacturing process flows to highlight areas of waste. Using tools such as Auto CAD, design and improve factory layouts to achieve optimum processes.
· Use the current scrap and remedial records to analyse process quality performances and react to any increases or any potential process improvements. Use root cause analysis tools to identify causes.
· Create and maintain production documentation, such as SOPs. Continually making sure that they are up to date and valid.
· Be involved in creating specifications for acquiring new machinery and equipment to ensure fit for purpose.
· Provide technical support on processes and equipment for other teams.
· Work with the engineering teams to make sure machinery meets required OEE levels to maintain process outputs.
· Work alongside the Health and safety team to ensure all processes are delivered safely and continually strive to reduce risks of processes.
· Be aware of new technologies to support the running of manufacturing processes such as automated counters, cameras, sensors etc.

As a Level 3 Civil Engineering Technician Apprentice in our Highways team, no two days will be the same. You will play an important role in supporting the delivery of projects that keep our roads, footways, and public spaces safe and accessible for the communities we serve. Working under the guidance of experienced Highway Maintenance Engineers, you will gain hands-on experience across a variety of areas, from the early planning stages of schemes through to on-site inspections and delivery.
In a typical week, you could be:
Assisting in the design, planning and supervision of footway and carriageway resurfacing, patching and drainage schemes
Supporting highway safety inspections, carrying out surveys, and learning how to identify and record defects
Helping to manage programmes of work by updating spreadsheets, databases and permitting systems under the Traffic Management Act
Preparing and providing information for meetings, site visits or briefings, ensuring colleagues have the right data at the right time
Using IT systems to input and analyse information, including financial and technical data, which supports decision making across the service
Contributing to the preparation of engineering drawings, documents and reports, using digital tools such as CAD or other specialist software
You will also have opportunities to attend site visits, where you will see first-hand how highway projects are delivered, interact with contractors and partners, and apply what you are learning in a real-world environment. Alongside technical tasks, you will provide essential business support, developing organisational and communication skills that are just as important in a professional engineering setting.
Throughout the apprenticeship, you will be supported by your line manager and a dedicated mentor, ensuring you develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to succeed. What will you be doing?
Lead and complete the development of grid connection solutions across a unique, assured pipeline of BESS projects, driving routes to RtB/COD.
Identify, originate and secure new grid leads and capacity with TSOs and DSOs; own the process end‑to‑end with brave, focused negotiation.
Build strong, successful relationships with TSOs/DSOs; engage in technical discussions to unlock improved, compliant solutions.
Coordinate site surveys, project design and single‑line concepts; manage grid studies and external consultants with a refreshed, proactive approach.

Are you the ideal candidate?
Degree‑level qualification in Power Systems, Electrical Engineering or similar.
Fluency in German with advanced English (written and verbal).

Confident negotiating with network operators; strong knowledge of German grid codes and technical specifics.
Skilled in assessing substations, proposing connection solutions and producing single‑line diagrams.
Experience managing grid studies and third‑party consultants to scope, schedule and budget.
Highly organised, self‑motivated and assured communicator — comfortable working remotely across time zones.
Network of planning consultants and grid operators in Germany; full driving licence; right to live and work in Germany; willing to travel nationally and occasionally to the UK.
Nice to have (desirable, not essential): permitting for substations/grid connection, CAD, and power systems modelling/simulations.
