In your daily work, you will interact with venue personnel, such as chefs, catering managers, facilities managers, managers/owners and kitchen staff. Personnel from equipment manufacturers technical support services, and equipment and spares suppliers’ sales and technical staff. You may also liaise with Environmental Health Officers and other trades personnel, such as builders, electricians etc. Internally, you will interact with company management, office staff and other technicians.
Installations involve unpacking and in some cases assembling equipment, connecting in accordance with the equipment manufacturer’s instructions to suitable services (gas, electricity, water and drainage) and commissioning.
Where an installation involves the removal of equipment, engineers disconnect the redundant item, remove it to a safe area for disposal and make safe any services no longer required.
On maintenance visits, engineers visually inspect the equipment, check the services for any problems, carry out maintenance tasks as specified by the manufacturer, and test the equipment is functioning as designed.
On repair visits, engineers establish the problem from the customer, check the faulty item to confirm the problem, diagnose the fault, adjust or repair or replace faulty components, and test the equipment after repair to ensure that it is working correctly.
Engineers are qualified and registered with F-gas for the types of appliances they are working on and retain their competency.
Once qualified you will be responsible for planning your schedule and logistics to meet customers’ requirements and location. Reporting to the correct person in the customer’s premises and agreeing the purpose of their visit and managing customer expectations. At all times, presenting a professional image of the company. Engineers largely work on their own and unsupervised – self-managing, however occasionally on maintenance visits to larger kitchens, you may work alongside other Engineers or a Supervisor. As directed by the Class Teacher assist with the delivery of the curriculum in all areas including mathematics, literacy and IT, supporting the learning outcomes using the teacher’s planned teaching and learning methods
Take responsibility for the classroom, preparing and clearing away materials and resources as required, and supporting the teacher in creating a positive, vibrant, safe and happy learning environment which encourages all children to achieve their best
Support the school in implementing a consistent behaviour policy, encouraging excellent behaviour through positive feedback and praise, reinforcing school rules and procedures with clear expectations, and raising concerns about any behaviours with the class teacher
As directed by the class teacher, monitor and record children’s responses to learning, and feedback to the teacher on pupils’ progress, in accordance with school policy
Assist in play-time supervision including facilitating games and activities, encouraging and promoting independence for pupil development as appropriate, and dependent on year group, assist pupils with eating, dressing and hygiene, including personal hygiene
Assist with special activities (e.g. sports days, plays, concerts, open days), accompany children on school visits, and where appropriate be involved in extracurricular activities (e.g. clubs, presentation evenings)
Provide clerical and administrative support to the class teacher (e.g. photocopying, filing, collation of reports and pupil work)
Follow all Trust and School policies with specific reference to the Behaviour, Child Protection, Health and Safety and Learning and Teaching policies
Assist with the provision of first aid throughout the school as required by the needs of the School
Training:
You will work towards your Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification across a total duration of 16 months

All online/ remote learning, no classroom or college day release
An allocated tutor will support you throughout the apprenticeship
Maths and English GCSE or Equivalent required
Training Outcome:
A full-time role will be considered on completion of the apprenticeship

To offer support to Commissioning & Water Treatment Engineers. Working closely with your supervisor and the engineering team, following the correct procedures to BSRIA guidelines and when needed CIBSE Codes A & W.
To compile correct computer-generated test sheets and engineers’ reports using our master templates, initially with some training and guidance as required.
Always wear company clothing and appropriate PPE.
Help with producing Risk Assessments and Method Statements required for individual projects.
Proficient with use of Office suite programs (Word, Excel spreadsheets). Computer literate.
Some understanding of building, engineering, M & E industry desired.
Carry out all reasonable tasks or projects as requested.
To follow instructions as given by project managers/lead engineers.
