Supporting the Pupil:
Under the guidance of the class teacher, undertake work/care/support programmes to enable access to learning
Take responsibility for adapting and delivering learning activities with individuals or small groups who would benefit from a different learning approach as agreed.
Encourage and promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupil

The position requires you to have an understanding of equine needs and yard duties in order to maximise efficient and effective working. You will assist the manager, proprietors and wider team as required, approaching daily business positively and to keep motivation high both personally and within the team.
You will carry out daily tasks to ensure a smooth and professionally run yard which means keeping abreast at all times of the changing needs of all horses and owners. You need to be able to take instruction and direction from the Yard Manager or Head Groom as and when necessary and approach work in a positive and polite way at all times.
You will ensure a good balance of service and workload between the livery and stud horses, ensuring all needs are met communicating relevant issues and observations as they arise to the Yard Manager. High priority is to be given to customer relations, ensuring that clients are kept informed at all times and to work within given time schedules as written in the contract of employment unless otherwise required.

Involved in the welfare of the horses, which includes: Stables, Adhering to diet guidelines, Adhering to turn out rotas and instructions & Exercise
Organising horses to be ready for vets, blacksmiths etc and efficient handling when on the yard
A team member in the efficient running of the yard in all daily, weekly, monthly, annual duties
Ensuring you play your part in ensuring both aspects of the business are well serviced and all horse needs are catered for, whether that be for the livery or the stud horses
Day to day yard duties that include: Feeding, turning out and bringing in, mucking out and bedding down – to a high standard, exercise and schooling, hay nets and feeds, brushing off and feet cleaning, checking for injury and well being, tack cleaning, muck heap management, sweeping up and general tidiness of the yard, washing out feed buckets
Take personal responsibility in ensuring you notice any changes in all horses – rugs, water and general needs before leaving the yard
Other yard duties that include: Trough cleaning, checking fencing and fields for poisonous plants, painting, washing down and disinfecting stables and rubber mats, rug cleaning and the organisation of the rugs for pick up and return of them to the owners

During your 18 months with us, you will gain experience across in teams in the Horizons structure, including engagement and advice, structured treatment, outreach and recovery communities. To provide administrative support for the work of the Operations and Development section and to the medical practitioner’s tribunals and interim orders tribunals. Hearing and office-based support is arranged on a rota basis but primarily the role will be hearing based with occasional time spent supporting the wider office administration.
Time supporting hearings will involve several facets including setting up hearing links or hearing rooms in advance, welcoming parties to the hearing environment and making sure they have the equipment and access to systems that they need, document management (uploading and sharing documents) witness support (bringing /admitting witnesses to the hearing, swearing in of witnesses and assisting witnesses), updating our ‘hearing commentary’ system with key information and providing support to doctors during hearings.
Office based administrative support will involve preparing of documents from templates and guidance, processing documentation to be shared in advance of the hearing, supporting attendees to hearings by conducting test calls, updating systems and responding to telephone and email queries.
Main responsibilities
To assist with duties in connection with the running of hearings, including:
Assisting with setting up and clearing hearing rooms.
Sending out hearing links and other key prehearing documentation.
Providing support to all parties attending hearings including practitioners and their representatives, GMC representatives, witnesses and the tribunal themselves.
Assisting the tribunal clerk as required, including administrative tasks to ensure legal compliance and maintaining a log of the progress of the hearing (hearing commentary).
Updating documents on IT equipment relating to the tribunal (handheld tablets) and operating other IT systems to allow the hearing to be recorded and accessed.
To support the administration of the Interim Orders Tribunals, including:
The preparing of admin documentation
The uploading of documentation to systems
Dealing with internal and external queries
To ensure hearing rooms are regularly checked, maintained in an orderly state with stationery replenished.
To be responsible for dealing with enquires in writing and by telephone.
To undertake the general administration of the Section, which will include filing, ordering stationery, checking and maintaining hearing rooms and other general administrative duties.
Adopting business improvement principles into the team ethos and contributing to change programmes as they arise.
In exceptional circumstances, work from locations other than our Manchester hearing centre and during weekends (this is very rare and on agreement).
To understand and apply our safeguarding policy and processes for protecting children and adults at risk of harm (including knowing how to recognise, record and report safeguarding).
To support the organisation’s sustainability aims and net zero plan where appropriate.
Any other reasonable duties as may be assigned from time to time.
